Heres my fully painted Fateweaver! It took the better part of 2 days doing him, but I like the result. The only thing I would change is maybe his staff; think I picked funky colors for the stick. Thanks for looking and please comment! This is my first fully painted MC model as well

P.S. I'm still working on photographing; think I need to make a box >.>

What blend of blues did you use? I mean what was the base that you started with and then in what order did you add what colors? it looks very nice

I voted ok.

Honestly, it's a spectacular play piece, good consistent work, great rainbow wings, totally fits the model and theme!

The limitation comes in technique, the drybrush and multicolor is fairly primitive, it gives the pieces a coarse look that defines it.

The Bone and parchment pieces seem to be the same color as well and it looks like a shortcut, or a limitation in the creators palette.

Olive colored flock on the base, while a decent standard, does not complement theme or colors in the model at all. A chaos creature might warrant something more exotic, perhaps some base scatter or a painted element? A fallen enemy, or a bit of lava, or a minor demon of the same faction underfoot.

Hi quality multi angle images really help show this model off well.

Using a better background for the images, for example a plain sheet of white paper perhaps, would be more professional, and less distracting.

Good luck with the rest of the army! Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't agree more with the basing issue! The bone/parchment are both different shades of the same color, but now that you mention it, after I washed both they look very simular.... I will agree my palette is somewhat basic (I'm a newbie at actually TRYING to paint lol), but I'm working at it!

In all, thanks for your critique and compliments! I'll definitely rework the basing; perhaps a crumbling building or something.... just need to get material!

the book is good, i'm not so sure about the wing color changing, my kairos has two half colors instead of varying wings

Hmm... That woulda been an idea. I was going more for a parrot; Tzeentch is the lord of change, and his minions come in all sizes and colors, so I wanted to show that. Plus (once I finish my horrors and stuff) each unit in the army is a different color, so it sort of brings it together

Thanks so much man! Wouldn't say one of the best models (look around, i'm nothing compared to some!) but thanks a ton for the compliment Hopefully I get similar reactions when he hits the table next time

now that you explain how it ties to your other units, i think its interesting. Since fateweaver is in command of your lower demons it kinda shows that all the lesser demons are sort of tied/connected to him

The wings are excellent, nice transitions.

The yellow of the beaks is very dull, I'd recommend putting a lighter base color on it before you put the yellow on, as it looks very dirty and grubby.

The drybrushing for the skin seems very heavy. As with all things painting, many light coats is better than a couple heavy coats. Less paint and a lighter touch would help a lot if you intend to keep drybrushing as a main form of highlighting.

The work is solid. If I saw it in the Gallery I'd be torn between voting a 5 or 6 for painting. The wings say 6, the rest says 5 to me. Better than average table top quality, and might place in a local painting competition.

I like him from the back, not so sure on the front. It is well done but it just feels like its missing something.

I agree with much of what you said. The issue I had with the skin was how many coats I used (4) for making it and I'm also very heavy on color. Its mostly due to the fact i use cheaper brushes, and GW paints like to goop up if they sit for more than as weak :( So its mostly my fault for being lazy and not watering them back down. I will definitely highlight the beaks again, I only did one highlight and I think I need more like 3.

Overall thanks for the compliment and I'll work on making my next projects better!
