I was thinking about this and wanted to hear your simmliar expereinces. today, someone told me that orks were completley useless because they had a 6+ armor save (the kid had an illegal BA army without a codex). Someone else told me that BTs were for 'Hardcore shootibg' despite the fact I had a BP and CC toting army of em. But what do you guys think and has anything simmilar happened to you

None what so ever.

I got told Eldar were broken by a Blood Angels player.

I had to go to hospital because of oxygen deprivation from all the laughing.

The other classic being:

'They're just broken.'

I have sometimes found that a sibngle opponent will offer some version of the first two statements pre-game followed by the third statement post-game.

Being told that The Nightbringer is an easily avoidable point sink when he always made his money back and then some or The Harbinger of Menoth is a troop caster, she's got 10 bloody focus!

I used to have my Chaos Space Marines have purple shoulder plates and heads. I'll let you guys figure out what everyone said about them.

Harbinger IS a troop caster. Her high CMD and the vast majority of her spells and abilities affect and support Warriors, not Jacks.

Just having high Focus does NOT make a Caster a Jack Caster.

Yeah, noone would ever argue that Karchev is a troop caster because he only has 5 focus...

My point was that these sorts of attitudes are pretty common in any place that game nerds gather be it the lgs, internet forum, whatever.

Go read the battlereports section, or army tactics, etc. Theoryhammer and netdecking is a sad part of this hobby, and you will encounetr lots of peopel that will try to convince you that everything but what they play sucks, or that "codex/unit/build x" is worthless etc.

In the end, who cares? If you like it play it...

Chaos are rubbish really...(though not that silly seeing how my warriors were routed by a stonethrower crew!)

Why have you got chaos marines, you may as well have space marines.

I turn up and place 4th/5th with my Eldar at my local tournaments (only 600pts, but half of the armies are usually IG and we're all limited by a different FoC (the UK School League FoC IIRC - 1-2 HQs, 2-6 Troops, 0-1 Elites, 0-1 Fast Attack/Heavy Support and no special HQs) so it takes the kick out of most armies except IG, who tend to excel) and when someone meets the Energy Field rule or Holofields, the usual reaction is one of disbelief, followed by saying how nasty Eldar are. Runes of Warding also provoke the same reaction in users of Psykers. The more experienced players are fine with it, it just seems to be anyone who hasn't faced Eldar before or newer/younger players.

I've also had people say that Stealth Suits>Crisis Suits, that Fire Warriors are overpowered because they have 30" range and Strength 5 guns, that Burst Cannons are simply crap, that Stealth Suits need Fusion Blasters, that Pathfinders need Rail Rifles, that Railguns are overpowered, and that Crisis Suits are overpowered.

Nobody complains about my CSM though, which I am quite thankful for; if anyone did complain about my Lash-less, Plague Marine-less, Obliterator-less CSM, I would be forced to dreadsock them to death.

I agree wholeheartedly with this!

i got told "my dark angels terms would beat your GK terms"

I proceeded to table him

then i got told that the Daemons are useless, he had tau, tabled him

then i got told the vindicare is useless, took out his land raider full of term on the first turn.

then i got told tau is the easiest army to beat, tabled his Orks

then i told a IG player they were cannon fodder for my Tau, and i got tabled.

Power to the lashless, PM less, oblit less CSM list!

Though having said that, people ask me why the hell I take raptors... which is annoying, as they are great charge shields and transport poppers for my winged DPs.
