I'm starting a new necron force, I'm going to be taking this one slow, probably buying a box every payday, instead of buying it all at once. Going to be the first time I actually assemble and paint my own army, too.

Not sure if this is a good starting point, but we usually play 1000 pts, but I'm thinking 750 is a good place to work towards at first and paint slowly, as I don't want to overwhelm myself the first time I actually do the hobby side of things >.>

HQ
Necron Overlord - Warscythe, Command Barge - 180 pts

TROOPS
10x Necron Warriors - 130 pts
10x Necron Immortals /w Tesla Carbines - 170 pts

FAST ATTACK
6x Canoptek Scarabs - 90 pts

HEAVY SUPPORT
Annihilation Barge - 90 pts
Annihilation Barge - 90 pts

I was also thinking of not going with the scarabs, and instead getting 2 Crypteks. Both Harbingers of destruction, and giving one Solar Pulse. But like I said, any help is wanted, I can handle criticism.

I would go the Harbinger route that you suggested. Otherwise, I think this is an excellent start, with plenty of room for you to build upon as your army increases and you get a feel for the Necrons. 750 is a very tough scale to play Necrons at, and your list is about as well-rounded and strong as the Necrons can get at that level. Nice work!

I'd split the warriors into two seperate units, drop the Annihilation Barge, and add two Harbingers of Destruction. This gives you more scoring units and more ranged anti-tank. This gives you twenty points. A Solar Pulse on one of the Harbingers could be useful. Alternatively, drop the Scarabs.
