Well I'd been storing my Sentinels in the normal battlefoam cases and this really didn't work well as many of them stuck out over the top.
So I repaired all the broken ones (about 8) with pins in their ankles and customized the case some.

Next up was sorting out all the weapons I'd had magnetized for them all.

20 Autocannons, multilasers, plasmacannons, and lascannons!
I'll be sanding the mold stuff of them this weekend at my parents (because I don't have a belt sander in my apartment) and painting them up this weekend!

Now some of you may be asking where the guardsmen I promised are. Well it turns out they were all lacking a few colors so I've decided to finish painting them before basing them. 37802

Hazzer - Thanks!

Well since the pumice looked good on the heavy weapons teams I hit the bases of the sentinels as well

While cleaning up I found a few earthshaker cannons left over from my medusas. It'll be a quick job to build them up as gun emplacements so I slapped some glue on them.

I've lost some parts though so I'll have to scratch build some covers for 2 of them and a breach for 1.

I got the majority of the sprue chunks removed from the sentinel weapons now it'll just be some cleanup.

While I was at my folks house I was able to sand down the forgeworld doors I needed to finish off the rhinos for the 2nd company

These will go alongside the already finished rhinos (minus top hatches) and some predators I was working on before

Also my bases for the 1st company came in! I can't wait to finish them... right after I figure out how to paint them.

Well first up I was able to get the rhinos up to the condition of the other Rhinos and the Predators

Then I built the sponsons for the predators. They'll be magnetized so I can easily swap between them.

Next up will be building the turrets for them.

I was also able to paint all of the base edges for all my finished guardsmen and sentinels.

I've got to figure out how to build the top doors on the rhinos so they can be swapped for razorbacks.

Well friends I finally got off my ass and started painting again!
During the Monday painting session I was able to get all of my bases primed and a gunmetal drybrush

I did some test washes today and I'm happy with them but they're not something I can put everywhere.

After that I decided to put some more colors down on the storm ravens.

Then I washed the plastic GKs I built

And finished off the Warpsmith/techmarine

I built another pair of hammer/halberd justicar for a possible 4th squad I may need.
I also built and primed the defense lines.

Theophony - Thanks!

Briancj - It was a beautiful army to see in person. I wish I could have spent more time in the hall but I twas running around taking 20+ hrs of classes.

Well I need to think about how what I want to field at Wargames con, and to that end I finally finished my Storm Ravens.

As you may remember my squads are differentiated by the 2 tones on their shoulder pad. I replicated this with the alerons on the planes as well as a small shield on the hurricane bolters.

Of course no sooner do I finish these that I realize I really just want to have fun at this event, and switch my focus to the narrative track which uses Horus Heresy rules.

I've pointed out a list and started amassing the troops!

DiDDE - Check my signature for a link to that thread.

Last night I went to my folks to pick up my old display board for Wargames Con. Last year while packing up the church front had come detached from the base so I had to reglue that, as well as reaffixing the second A in Armageddon on the backboard.

On top of all this since last update I've been able to:
Build, and paint all the Jump marines I thought I would need if I was going to play in the narrative track.
Base 2 heavy bolters and 10 plasma cannons I thought I would need if I was going to play in the narrative track.
Build, magnetize, and paint all Predator sponson & Turret weaponry (and extras) I thought I would need if I was going to play in the narrative track.
Decal predators.

Lucarikx - Thanks! I was playing in the GT. I was thoroughly trashed but I had 6 great games!

Well I've been busy since I got back! I've been building 3 storm talons and they're each about 1/2 done.
I've also been working on and off on my golden demon projects but I need to work harder on them.
First up for finished things will be the Dante from earlier in the thread. I gave him some panel lines and painted his opponent

I also did the same with my Astorath

To Prepare for Apoc I built an Ultramarines Tycho (remember my death company are tyrannic war vets)

and a Helbrecht

I've also been working on finishing up the 2nd companies Rhinos. I've decided I need to tell who's rhino it is from any angle and I've spruced up the codex markings.

As you can see both sides have squad number and job markings.
I did this to all of the rhinos

As part of working on my Games Day projects I tried out some new weathering ideas on my old baneblade

Don't look too hard for them most of them washed away when I sealed the model.

Since the Purifier formation is making a comeback I decided all 10 of my purifier squads needed an inquisitor (who better to cast divination) so I built another to make it an even 10

Some of you may have seen the riptide I painted for a friend of mine at Wargames con coverage on Spikey Bits and on BOLS so here's a little how to

To start off I primed all of the parts Vallejo Airbrushable black primer. Then applied a digital camo masking tape I found online (the company is out of business or I'd link you there now, but I plan on making and selling some later)

Next I sprayed over the tape with Vallejo Airbrushable Gray primer, and applied a new set of masking tape.

Finally I sprayed the whole thing with Tamiya German Gray and pulled the tape off

Next was picking out details in boltgun dwarf bronze and foundation orange. I washed the boltgun with a custom purple glaze I made and drybrushed with chainmail to give it that "alien" look

This is not something I recommend for the faint of heart. All together this took over 30 hours to do 1 riptide, 1 hammerhead, 6 sniper drones, 2 spotters, and 10 marker drones.
As I did them the week before we left I didn't get much sleep before the tournament.

I did these tau for a friend of mine who is moving away next month and you can see an Ultramarines and Blood Angels Rhino doors on the base. This is an omage to me and another friend ours. He's given me 2 more riptides to do and they will have other bits from armies our gaming group plays.

Well friends I've been trying to remember to take pictures, honest!

On the 4th of July I ended up playing a 15k per side "good bye to 1.5 apoc" game.
I only took pictures of the set up so here we go from left to right

This is what happens when 1 side doesn't talk about what they want to bring... the only scoring units we had were my honor guard (in the land raiders) and 10 of the russes in the back line. We were DESTROYED but we killed 2 titans and TONS of other stuff so it was good.

Some of you may remember the stormhammer I was building (Fairly sure its earlier in this thread). Well Sicne I'm going to Games Day I decided it was time to finish it to enter in the vehicle conversion contest. So I riveted the crap out of it!

Here you can see where all the rivets came from

I also started touching up some of the older pieces I'm going to enter in the golden demon as one of the pieces was broken and shipped, while the other was a little lacking in highlights.

Dsteingass - Thanks!

Ok the riveting journey of the stormhammer continues! I've decided I didn't like the way the rivets looked on the front of the tank so I'm going to add some panels there and then rivet them (you can see the first in the pic).
Then I cut down the forgeworld Ryza battlecannon barrels and attached them to the 2 turrets.

Now that I've been looking at the pictures of the old epic stormhammer and it apparently used baneblade sized guns for the main turret (of course the russes were almost the same size too) so I don't know if I should keep them or go get another kit to cannibalize.
What do y'all think?

Painting wise I've added 2.5 more colors to the wall of martyrs set. Next up I will need to finish up the metals and then hit the metal and bone with a wash. After that I'll do a a nice metal drybrush over the walkway and parts of the wall and they'll be good to go.
After that I'm going to making sure all my current forcers are good to go for apocalypse and then I've got some more plans!

Well friends I had a fun time at Games Day (here's some pics)
http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Foda_Bett/library/Travels/2013%20Memphis%20Games%20Day

On the painting front I was able to get the wall of martyrs finished off and added to the stack

And that's about it really! It has been kind of a slack week. I did get a promotion at work which should mean some more toy soldiers (althought it probably means I'll be paying down some Games Day debt quicker). I started assembling my Captain Invictius out of the Terminator Praetor and some extra Heresy era termis, I've also got some converting to do to Marco Columbo as he needs to become a rogue trader or something.

Flippa - Thanks!

Well while I was at Games Day I picked up the parts I needed to make Captain Invictus of the 1st Company.
It took some cutting to make the plasma blaster fit on the praetor armor

And even more to make the powerfist fit instead of the sword arm.

I've got some sculpting to do in there but it works for right now.

You may remember the tons of servitors, commissars, assassins and other minis I've been building up that needed basing? Well I finally based them!

I'm going to add some drybrushing to the black based ones and then I've got to find some foam for them!

I also got all the weapons magnetized for my StormTalons and they are now ready to paint!
Hopefully this week I can get some more organization done as I've started making a Kanban report for all of my to complete projects. I have a rough outiline but require some more work.

I can't believe I forgot the stormhammer pics last time!
So between this weekend and painting Mondays at my place I was able to get some things done!
I based some more tech adepts

Put down the base colors on the vox array and base for my bastion

And primed a stick of guardsmen

I also primed a few tactical and assault marines to start the 4th company

I was also able to get my wound markers for my scarab swarm bases basecoated gunmetal and the base color down on the bone

Here's the unpainted stormhammer pics from earlier

And last night I broke out my new Grex Trinium and put down a Adeptus Battle Grey basecoat!

Well over this weekend and last night I was able to get the finishing colors on the Servo Skull Wound counters

and all together

Now I've got to wait for my secret weapon order to get in before continuing on my mechanicus/crons.

I was also able to paint the cockpits for my stormtalons.

I found out I had to prune some of the parts on the exterior of the cockpit to make them fit (since I glued the dash down). I've been test fitting the other sub-assemblies a lot more to make sure I don't have any more makeshift cutting.
I should be able to clean up the last mold lines tonight and maybe get the rest of the talons basecoated!

Well friends it has been a long time indeed since I have posted. I played in a 15k per side apoc game on Labor Day, and I've been sick and seen the release of the new marine dex in the few weeks since my last post.

Hobby wise I'm afraid it is slight pickings.
We had a tournament at my old work who wants to jump start gaming at their new location. 400pts you needed a special character and some other weird rules. So I brought 22 Storm bolter acolytes! Of course I needed to build them so out came some old cadians, forgeworld heads, flamers, and space wolf storm bolters!

I also built the new firestorm terrain piece

Although you don't need to I magnetized the guns so they slip on easier.

I also decided to work on a few second hand tanks I received. First up was a shadowsword that had sensors instead of lascannons, so I decided it should be able to choose!

Next I took a second hand baneblade (that donated it's barrel to the stormhammer earlier) and made it the "Traitor's Bane" from the Pandorax apocalypse book!

But I couldn't decide which way the AP3 heavy flamers in back should face.

So I magnetized them!

Not to be out done the stormtalons from earlier were basically finished (I'm not happy with the decals and thus I didn't take any finished pictures). But here they are awaiting assembly.

And every weapon option!

Next I had some resin tank hulls a friend of mine had me resin. They were a great "filler" mold that I could just toss any excess resin in while molding so I ended up with a drawer full of them. I was tired of them loafing around so I sanded them flat and added a piece of diamond plate to the top!

BAM! Flat bed trailers! Well now that those are built I wonder if I could combine them with an earlier project...

Well I decided to build a few more trailers for up comming projects.

Then while working at my parents I found a box of aegis guns I'd picked up at games day. I decided to build them up quickly

and give them some paint!

I'm still chugging away on the marines posted earlier. They all have their gunmetal and grey down, and I started working on their black (ribbing and sword hilts) on Friday.
I was also able to turn a chaos vindicator I purchased second hand into an Ulttramarine tank. It just needs a Forgeworld rear hatch (waiting till the Horus Heresy book 2 drops) and I'll be ready to paint my 5 vindicators at once.

Well the 4th Company is coming along nicely!

After this was taken I got the Golds, Reds, and purity seals down!

My local FLGS is is holding a terrain contest and I went through my bitsbox and found somethings I don't mind donating to a good cause (keeping me playing games).
So I've decided to paint up an old crashed Macragee ship and some buildings!
First up the largest piece

Then the smaller pieces

I've split this one up to 2 separate buildings but the same basic idea. I'm planning on building each piece of the wreckage on its own base so they can be used for objectives if need be.

Well here we go again!

First up I decided to see if I could match the old Ultramarines blue to the new colors

The numbered ones were from the new badger airbrush line, and the large bits at the top is the Ultramarines Spray from Army Painter.

Saturday my FLGS had a terrain competition and I worked on the pieces I'd done with their paints (to make them match). Now these are VERY WIP but you get an idea

I'm probably going to swap out the central plinth in the last one for the marine from the honored imperium set.

I also finished up the acolytes!

Well ok fine they need a drybrush on their bases. The flash over exposed the "Fang" drybrush highlights.

And I finished up the chaplain with the 4th company marines from earlier

Again the "Fang" has been over exposed and isn't nearly that bright.
