So I've had it on my painting table since March, but I've finally put some paint on it! I was unsure when I started painting this model how it would come out; I hadn't done camo in a long time and there's something slightly intimidating about Forgeworld models that just isn't there with plastic kits. I was also a bit spooked about the canopy, since the included sheet to cut up for the windows was bent. Fortunately, I cut out the windows from an old plastic blister pack and everything's gravy. Anyway, here's the cool space plane I finally got around to painting.

First off, the base that I painted back in March that I've been waiting to put a plane on. I thought it'd be cool to have a little diorama:

Next, the plane in action:

The top and rather plan bottom. I had to leave the landing gear/doors off to accomodate the flight stand lug:

The pilot, because yes, I even paint the eyes on guys in vehicles:

And bonus:

Thank you! I've gotten a few comments from my gaming group that I should add stars to the tailfin as well, but I was so done with painting this plane after I'd spent the better part of an entire day just painting it.

Damn, that plane is nice man. I like the basing. Well thought out basing always makes models 10x better.

I guess this'd be the place to post it, but I'm finally working on my Space Stalingrad board (Cosmograd? Wintergrad?)

Not pictured: the other dozen+ tiles that make up the 6x4 board. Tomorrow I'll black in the craters, and I'll do the snow and sewer grates and such when I'm back in Boston.

That, my man, looks cool as HELL.

How much terrain do you plan on putting on it? Call me curious.

Looking forward to seeing more. Take it easy for now.

P.S. Your Thunderbolt looks phenominal!

Thanks man! I hope to have most of the flat spaces on that board have buildings, but the size of said buildings is up in the air. I've got a half dozen or so Cities of Death buildings and some other sundry terrain and barricades lying around, so once the board's done I'll start working on those.

And thanks! The Thunderbolt still hasn't gotten to see a game since I can't transport the damn thing til KR releases foam for it.

It's actually been coming along right quick! What you're looking at in that last photo is maybe 2 and a half total hours of work. I'm looking at maybe that much time again to get all the snow and details done up, but it really isn't that much work considering the square footage.

Your thread has been a big inspiration to me! I'm starting out Valhallans at the moment, shame is getting hold of heavy/ weapons though. How do you manage it? eBay doesn't seem to have much at the moment.

Glad you dig the army! eBay was a major source of models, as was Dakka's Swap Shop. I got lucky and found a few lots going for about what you'd pay for plastic Cadians. As for finding more heavy weapons, you might have to look for heavy weapons from other contemporary ranges. As a result of that I had a few spare 2nd ed Cadians that I used in my retro Ultramarines as allies. The only heavy weapons I've gotten a lot of are mortars. Since they used to come with every Valhallan infantry box they're pretty common.

Inbetween sessions of painting blue today, I felt like painting something a little different. I've had this Vindicare sitting on my desk for months, so I thought I'd finally put some paint on him. Like an hour later, he was done!

Ahh man I'd kill to get that miniature. Saw it crop up on eBay a little while ago and it went for a silly amount.

What paints do you use for the beige-brown-sandy colour?
