**** that beltfeed.

I hate that thing so much. It breaks when I look at it funny.

I pinned all the arms on it now, so hopefully that helps some.

I´m sooo glad I can´t find these minis here in China because I would not be able to resist.
Visiting your blog made it even worst !¡!

Thanks for the comments guys. Glad you're enjoying my hobby ADD.

@CC - Dropping a Dragoe is pretty bad. I don't envy you that. I think one of the worst drops I've done is that I've dropped miniatures immediately after dipping them. And they landed on a dog hair covered rug. You want bad, try picking out loose dog hair from a rapidly drying, yet still gooey dip soaked miniatures.

Also, after staring at the pic of my Tomcat yesterday, I realized that I forgot to add the Flat Green bits to his armor plates. I was wondering why he looked off. I've since fixed that.

Those anitpodes proxies a page or so back are a bit undersized, no?

Are dragoes really that bad? "Cuz I intend to get one for my ASA eventually. The Jotums is a sold piece of work.

The Dragoe isn't so bad, it is actually a pretty solid model. The biggest issue with it is the gigantic feed-line for the gun on it's shoulder. It gets in the way of everything, its the first thing you grab when you try and pick up or move the model, and it is so thin I have no idea how to pin it.

If I ever get frustrated with the model, I'm going to dip the whole thing and then disassemble it, and convert it to be holding the HMC like a giant rifle. Maybe hook the box feed underneath of it somewhere. I dunno.

As good as it is put together, if you drop it the thing is doomed. Too many long edges jutting out in many directions. Invest in good super glue or a welder.

Okay, gotta post fast because I'm running late for work. Got five new figures to show today.

Deadzone Helfather

Urban War Vulcan (gladiator w/ shotgun and many grenades)

a very WIP Orc Trooper

Miranda Ashcroft

And, another Eldar Warlock

SWeet! The helfather looks pretty darn solid, and the rest are looking pretty good too.

The sculpt for the femOrc is kind of weird, it's power armor, with that much insulation there's no reason for the armor to look any different except for a drop or raise in mass... but y'know it's ''manga aesthetic'' so you gotta. The colors are looking good, seems pretty spot on for panO.

I think the vulcan is my favorite of your urban war gladiator stuff so far, jives the most with my sensibilities.

Helfather's a nice little figure. He's very solid and chunky. Unlike my PVC mercs, he actually had very very sharp details. It was actually him that made me decide to order the metal Survivor to replace my restic one.

I actually like the shotgun Orc a lot. She's the only Orc that's actually aiming her gun, even if she is hip firing it. The very feminine figure doesn't bother me too much. The combat heels that she's got though... those kind of bug me. Beyond that, she's a nice figure and surprisingly chunky for an Infinity figure.

I'm actually pleased with how Miranda turned out. I've been too afraid to paint her for some reason. Probably due mostly to the exposed face and eyes. I hope that when I do the dipping for her that the stuff picks out her details though.

Also, I got my Iguana today. It looks like next weekend is going to be my first round of house sitting. I'm not sure if I should start the Iguana first, or the Sphinx. The Iguana has a ton of itty bitty pieaces in his box. The Sphinx is like, 7 pieces total.

Hmm, hard to say, multi-part metal kits sound kind of frightening to me these days after having had plastic and restic for so long.

Miranda looks fine, it's a good combination of colors. What is she again, some kind of bounty hunter? Looks like she's part way between a school girl uniform and a womans suit, which is kind of odd but fitting for the infinity style

The orc doesn't look bad at all, i've just got a beef with armor that thick looking feminine as there's no point, but realizing it's infinity she looks a lot better than a lot of the lady soldiers. At least she's aiming the gun instead of posing for a photo shoot, like the new fem fusileer from icestorm.

The combat heels are just her CC weapon, if the knight sabers can do it in heels, surely she can manage

Mmm... Knight Sabers... fond memories.

Someone on this site has Knight Saber miniatures. One day I shall hunt them down. I remember seeing them... somewhere? Hasslefree maybe? I dunno.

Mental note, need to order their Matoko and Batou models.

I really like the Helfather! Both yours and Thraxis' look excellent, and are a great representation of what Deadzone could be. I find it one of the exceptions rather than the rule of the Mantix models.

More importantly, looks like I need to paint up my Miranda model! She's looking sharp man. And agreed on the ORC, she's my favorite of the ORC models... and the fact that she happens to also have a Boarding Shotgun makes it all the better.

I either used my credit/debit card or paypal... Just realize that it'll cost as much to ship them as it does to buy them, and there may be some kind of 'VAT' as well. They weren't particularly cheap by the end of it, but i still <3 them. Just be aware that they're 25mmish, and very small.

Like, small small:
Spoiler:

The bases are a bit different, but just compare the bulk here, they're very dainty.

even the infinity crowd makes priss look tiny, like a child in the armor, or just a small robot. still gonna use them for something though!

The L thing was a joke. I know what Pounds are and how to make my fancy American money into silly British money.

And GOOD LORD those are tiny. It actualy makes Space Marines look true scale.

...I think we're hijacking Barzam's thread again.

I don't mind if you guys want to derail my thread.

Man, that shot of the Knight Sabers with the Space Marines though. That really does make them look tiny. I'd love to have some Boomers, but at that scale, they just won't even feel right. Too small. I wish CB would make some not-Boomers. I think Karakuris are about as close as we'll get though.

Yeah, and they're pretty cool to boot! Probably the only unit that the knight sabers could really hope to count as too... other than the little servant models.

I guess you could get the karakuris, bend them over backwards into a crab-walk, 180 degree rotate the head, add metallic tentacle tongue and glowing red eyes... french maid/waitress outfit optional.. and you'd be good to go

That sounds more like a 2040 style Boomer rather that one from the original series. I want one of those cool, metallic blue, skull-faced looking bastards with the cannon in the mouth. I think those were specifically military Boomers. They were neat.

Oh, yeah i watched 2040, never found a good source for the older series when i had time. Can't find a good picture, but it does sound pretty neat!

Maybe i'll get a lizard tag and the sabers can run around trying to beat it up

These guys are the Boomers I want figures of.

I went and got my preorder in for Operation Icestorm. FRP and The Warstore both have it up for preorder, though the Warstore's price is better. It looks like I'll be splitting it with my Cousin. I'll be letting him have the PanO and the terrain, meanwhile I'll keep the Nomads and the limited edition figures.

Nice, you got the cooler dudes for sure, though I'll be happy to paint my new shiney pan o. I just hope they have them at gencon and I don't miss the preorder window.

That boomer is fairly cool, the one episode I saw part of for the old series had them acting like mobsters... but I could like one of those as an antagonist.

I've got a couple new figures to post. I managed to find an HRL Muyib for about $5, so I figured, what the hell, I'll get him. This guy might be the last figure I buy for a little while. I need to be a bit more conservative with my money.

I think I've managed to get him matched up decently with the Muyib I already had.

And I've been working on the first of my bribe figures, the Shasvastii Sphinx.

He's got an odd pose and I couldn't get the lighting to cooperate. I like the design of the Sphinx, but he costs way too much for what you get. This guy is barely bigger than a regular infantry figure and yet he's almost three times the price, unless you get lucky. My dad managed to get him on Ebay for about $25 or so, which I think is much more reasonable for something of this size.

He does look cool with his desert buddies.

I'll be adding some green lights to his Spitfire and some red lights to his back after he's been dipped. What color should I use for the eyes though? I'm kind of leaning towards a Zeon pink.

Yeah, he is a little pricy. Its almost like GW and their silly prices for high Point models. I still think he's a good sculpt, and he is basically 1/3 of your army when you field him.

And he is an incredibly nasty unit.

Pink seems doable as long as the wash sinks in enough around the eyes to give it a good shading around the recesses.

Lookin good. I know nothing of the shasvastii stuff, but they definitely look menacing and alien, the Sphinx looks like it could just reach out and palm someone's head too.

The Sphinx takes some major points. It costs more in-game than the Raicho does. But, I suspect that's due to the fact that the Sphinx is more of a black ops TAG. TO Camo plus that Climbing Plus and the Spitfire means it'll be moving around the field quickly and laying down some serious hurt.

Here is image number 400, btw. I just put some final touches on the HRL Muyib last night and got him all finished.

I think he's a pretty good match, if I do say so myself. Especially considering I wasn't using the same color paints for his pants.

Yeah those look good.

Spec ops tag sounds fancy. I like his pose, the Bakunin lizard tag has kind of a weird dazed or possibly come at me bro pose.

I find the Lizard to have a somewhat neutral pose, myself. I rather like it to be honest. My preference for the Sphinx though would be to have it posed firing its Spitfire while gripping it with both hands. So far, CB has managed to make all of ONE TAG that's actually posed that way. Speaking of the Sphinx though, I painted his eyes and added a couple of random Tau decals to it to spice it up just a bit.

In other news, as we all know, I do on occasion work on GW stuff. Unfortunately, it isn't always Infinity all the time. I picked up a five man squad of GW's old metal Storm Troopers a few weeks back and only just this week have I started working on them. They have such cluttered, busy sculpts I had a hard to figuring out how I should paint them. I finally settled on a green and grey scheme I saw in an old catalog scan. I think it works alright. Better than the red and black standard colors.

So, there's obviously still two more guys to go in this squad. Despite how cluttered the sculpts are and despite the oddly mushy faces (seriously, that melta gunner's face is naturally that ugly), I actually really like the Storm Trooper designs. Especially the ones with the gas masks. I wish they all had them on. Sadly, only two of the five are actually wearing the gas masks. Thankfully though, I have another Storm Trooper Sgt. with a Plasma Pistol who is wearing his mask. He may wind up replacing the power sword guy I got with these ones.

Since I'm showing GW figures, I figured I'd show these three off. I haven't shown them in here before, though there's some pics of them floating around in my gallery. As you can see, I never quite got around to actually totally finishing the one on the left and the middle guy. Leftie still needs his mask lenses done and middle guy never got his base painted. I'm finally starting to get off my butt though and actually work on the other two cultists from the set.

Hmm, I seem to have a thing about working in threes.

And for good measure, how about some third party cultists? These guys are from Anvil Industries' Miniatures Of The North line. They're really quite nice. I wish I'd actually bought the rest of the cultist range they have. Someday, maybe. I know their "assault" cultists aren't available anymore, but the leader and his dwarf minions and the regular infantry cultists are still available.

Everything looks nice! Good color choice for everything. The third party cultists look cool too.

I have a feeling that if I had a lizard kit in front of me, I could arrange the parts in such a way as I would like the TAG just fine.

Oldschool Stormtroopers are best stormtroopers!

Spoiler:

I love those models. The Plasma Pistol guy is my favorite though.

The cultists look good. I've been wanting to get some of the Dark Vengeance guys just to mess with for a while. The Heavy Stubber one in particular is a fun model.

Ooh! I like that scheme. What color did you use for his uniform? Is that a green or a grey? It's kind of hard to tell.

I decided to take a few more pics of the Sphinx. I think I've got it now to where I'm happy with it. I think I'm ready to dip him. I've add a few more details to him. Filled in the shoulder lights with a very dark red (it looks brown, but it is indeed red), painted the eyes, added some markings, and because the Sphinx is a badass elite unit, I gave him some yellow markings like I did with my Sogarat.

You can sort of see the yellow stripe on his face and shoulder pads. The lighting wasn't cooperating. You can definitely see the markings on his back fin and thigh, though.

And here's the other side, with the other thigh's markings visible.

You can see some small indentations on his back on either side of his head here. I'm going to be making those lights later on.
