Alright, we're set to go.
Currently we are gathering the survivors from earlier as well as adding new conscripts.

Russki sat down behind the remains of a desk. "The current situation is a bloody mess, more than half of the regiment is wiped out and the other half is running around through the jungle," he mumbled as he looked at the list with casualties. "Every other regiment should have been totally wiped out after an assault like that," he thought with a sad smile, but then he remembered all the good times that he had with his regiment. "No, we're the Catachans. We've been through a lot of dirt worse than this!"

He looked for a clean sheet and started writing down what he remembered, after it he went outside and asked around, writing down their names and function on the regimental Roster.

Russki plucked at his eyebrows, or rather what was left of them. The enemy did one hell of a job bombarding the camp. As he looked through the jungle, trying to identify what was the way back to the camp. He picked up his fluffy head, where there was a large hole in the side. He shrugged his shoulders and set off towards the camp.
As he reached the clearing and set down in the middle of all of the craters, he noticed that by some sort of a miracle the commissar’s tent was still standing. “Well feth,” he thought as he rose to his feet, “can’t leave business unfinished!” Among the debris, he found a jerry can full of promethium. Quickly he glanced around and noticed that there was no one else. Quickly he poured the contents over the canvas, while someone behind him shouted: “Colonel!”
-“Not some snot nosed grunt again,” he cursed as he tossed the jerry can aside.
As Russki looked for a light, someone shouted again: “Colonel!”
Russki didn’t pay attention to it and just as he wanted to set fire to the canvas, the grunt yelled again.
“Well feth,” Russki swore as he turned around, “can’t a honest man just set a commissar’s tent on fire? I don’t know where your colonel is. Try taking a look through the jungle! You might just find what’s left of him.”
The recruit gave him a funny look, before he replied: “But sir, you are the colonel!”

For a moment Russki thought that the other man was joking, but it wasn’t. The recruit wore the insignia of a tank commander. He had a strange hat that the would-be colonel didn’t immediately recognize.
“Sir, the name is sergeant Jokerva!” Behind the man stood a Leman Russ Executioner tank, dedicated to the 222nd Catachan.
“Sir,” the recruit said, “what are your orders?” Russki, still thinking it was a joke, rubbed his hands together and thought of as proper way to abuse his power. “See this tent,” he asked, pointing at the place where the commissar used to sleep, “get in your tank and drive over it.”
The sergeant shrugged his shoulders and climbed into the tank. A second later it promptly drove over the tent. Russki, still not believing the sergeant, ordered the man to do it again. The Leman Russ went in reverse and did what it was ordered.

Two thoughts rushed through Russki’s head, one was: “What idiot made me a fething colonel?” The other one was: “How am I going to explain this to the inquisition?” As he turned around, he saw that more survivors were emerging out of the jungle.

Reportin' for duty, sir.>

<Commisar Kracken walks slowly out the jungle missing his great coat and sash. Bolt pistol smoking and chain sword covered with blood and ichor.>

Commisar Kracken reporting for duty Sir. Request permission to draw a new sash and bolt ammunition from the supplies.

<Apples starts nibbling on the Commissar's shirt. JKB doesn't stop him>

<pushes Apples away>
Dang-it Apples thats my last shirt now get back before we play fetch with a Krak grenade.

Now, Commissar, surely you wouldn't explode a gift of our founder now would you?

By the way - I see you managed to hang onto your hat. We should visit the grave of your old one some time.

Well of course this hat was a gift from my mentor. The hat we buried was my predecessor's. For me it's always been my tent that has been gone after.

May I be Veteran Damios in the Company Command squad?

Hello Commander,

It's been a long time. I'm glad the Warmaster consented to my choice of successor. I am also glad to hear that old veterans are coming back to the regiment.

Please let Marr know i have reccomended him for rough rider sgt and have requisitioned extra melta supplies for the regiment.
Pplease also let commissar Kracken know that the package containing my old plasma pistol is for him, and that i wish i treats him as well as it did me. (Though advise him to take caution about shooting gretchin)

Also, i reccomended Kracken for promotion to Lord commissar to the commisariat, i am sure they will let you know soon.

Lastly, i let you know that the services of the 222nd may be needed on my new Governed planet. (thats right, i was made governor of the world Abraxas-VI we defended from the greenskin hoard without casualty in one of our first battles) as we have heard rumours of a new WAAAAGH and should things go wrong, i will call upon the 222nd first if they will help defend the people of this world once more.

What Iorl didn't mention is that it was the deadly catachan great purple jungle toad. The one that wiped out the entirety of the 221st with a single flick of its tongue. and also killed that titan.

Nyeh, pretty much all cavalry units wear it, armoured or not.

The toad was in fact, the one mentioned by Larkin... Yep... It was a moral victory as I poked it and it detonated but <gags> exploded toad does not agree with me <Runs to toilet>

What are ya, son? Some offworld noble? A man doesn't turn down a good toad for the luxury of frog. Even if it is of the exploding variety.

Hmm... So lets see...

Does anyone feel up for the following idea?

A real life battle, in which the normal rules of 40k apply.
So you move 6'', then can decide to fire/run and finally decide to assault.

The idea:
Every person commands his own squad/unit. You can make suggestions to other squads, but not say what they do!
I'll command the hostile units and perform all the actions for them.

Ofcourse all the dice rolling/ruling and others will be done by me.

At the end, I'll post the pictures of the turn and the results.

Example:
"I'll have my squad move closer to building X, after which we open fire with our lasguns at that hostile unit."
Then I move that unit closer to the building and measure the distance for firing. If they are within range, I roll for the results.
or
"My squad just keeps standing and fire at that enemy."
Then I won't move the squad and instead just fire at the enemy with them.

Sounds cool to me but how would I act being he lord commisar?
