Tasmania.. Which way's Oregon from here again?

Last update for the year - I've done most of the work on the siege gun conversion. Vic has printed/is printing it and the tracks for a test run on her shiny new printer. After that's done I'll make any necessary changes, and we'll HOPEFULLY have them ready for you in the next few months.

This thing is big, ugly, and BRUTAL. Frankly, I'm surprised it's not a D-Weapon

I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.

If it's a not-Medusa barrel, you'll make quite a few people quite happy for sure!

I'm no siege gun-ologist or anything, but it looks strikingly similar to a notMedusa barrel.

Is that the final print or just a test print? The details seem kinda soft compared to the main kit.

And that means what exactly? After it sits for a few hours the details magically get sharper? Both test prints and final prints come fresh off the printer at some point, but the detail quality can differ significantly depending on the resolution and print speed at which they are produced..

So far as I can tell, the reason they look "softer" is due to the shine on them, you'll notice that they're shinier than the plastic Sledgehammer kit they're temporarily attached to. If you're especially looking at the small photo of it on the aforementioned Sledgehammer, the smallness only magnifies the problem (odd as the train of thought there is...).

There are some differences, as well - the REALLY Big BFG, around the breach-block, is done in more of a cast style, so the corners on it are intentionally not as sharp. That said, the edges on the hexes, etc, are plenty sharp (so Victoria tells me).

Having not handled in person myself I can't completely testify, but Victoria said to me it's doing it as high of quality as the Perfactory Minis we used to send it to, and she's confident using those as masters. Given her standards, I rest comfortably with that and I reckon you can too.

Don't worry, its actually a finer print than the one in the WIP photo. The prints are slightly translucent which makes them hard to get sharp pics of, also snapped this on my phone as a workbench pic so was not too careful about how clear it was.

Newsletter time.

The Border World Rangers just got a re-boot. This was one of the first regiments I ever made, therefore the old kit still had some metal bits in it. Now the squad is all resin, and has become of the best value squads in the Victoria Miniatures range, it even comes with a free set of bare rifle arms in addition to the universal arms. I will also be creating some new accessories for this regiment in the near future. The next Regiment on the re-boot list is the Van Diemen World Devils.
If there are bits from the old squad you want, let me know when ordering, I am always happy to swap squad components.

Any chance we will ever see robed cultist-type figures from VM? I know it probably doesn't fit in with the rest of the range, but literally nobody else makes them.

Could be a bit like the Churchill I cast turret.

Will there be a Churchill like hull as well? I mean, I already have two Malcador tanks, but a proper 40k version of the Churchill..

This is the alternate turret for the Matilda, the one that makes a more heavily armoured variant.

I wouldn't mind doing a Malc sized Churchill, but, let's do one tank at a time!

Besides, I should probably work on a not-Chimera or something first...

Nice to see troops that match the ones on the Big Gun. A platoon of those guys, a gun, and something cool to haul it would make a great little army.
