Just throw your archmage in one of the archer units. Nice list I run something very similar (minus the book of hoath because it makes folk cry)
Also I would consider not taking shadow as alot of the spells wont help much of your army who will be hitting 3s and wounding on 2s against most things.

Be careful throwing an archmage in a unit of 10 archers. If you don't leave him in range of the BSB you can learn a hard lesson about panic checks.

Rather than taking a big unit of spearmen, you'd be better of going with more archers. So, a bunker of 20 or so with the flaming banner would be a good place for the Archmage to hideout, and then a couple more units of 10 archers.
I'd also probably just go with 1 unit of White Lions (or maybe even Phoenix guard instead of them), and then a couple of units of 14 Swordmasters instead of the other.
Bolt Throwers work fairly well with High Elves, if you could get a couple in that'd be useful.
