The last time I was looking into fantasy was when the previous Ogre book came out but never really got into it. So now things have changed and I was looking into getting into fantasy and like the looks of dwarves and ogres. Ogres are cool because well they are ogres I mean whats not to like? And Dwarves are cool because of the whole no magic/runes dispell and awesome warmachines bit they got going for them. I would like an army thats easy on the pocketbook too.

Ogres will cost FAR less to set up. Dwarves can be done pretty cheaply with a pair of batallion boxes and some Battle for Skull Pass figures, but Ogres need fewer models, and they are easier to paint because they're bigger (apparently...). Many will tell you they are more competative too. Dwarves seem to need a really diffrent mindset (which is why I like them I guess) and have a lot of personality.

If you're stuck between two super cool armies, go with your pocketbook.

I know, lame, but my reasoning is that the cheaper army (Ogres in this case) will be faster to collect and paint. Plus, Ogres are super cool, and I'm saying that as a Dwarf player (Whom I still love) and their book was updated recently as well, so you won't have to worry about a new book invalidating your old one.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.
