The Space Marines have a hell of a lot of firepower but unless they Seize the Initiative or deploy in a strong defensive formation the Dark Eldar should be able to do reasonable damage to them on the first turn. If the mission was Capture and Control or if it had fewer objectives I might say differently but the mission and deployment seem to heavily favor the Dark Eldar's speed and lager numbers of scoring units.

i vote a rethink on those kaballites, for one in every 10 models can replace the splinter rifle with a splinter cannon or a dark lance.
could someone tell me how does a dreadnought have 2 tl auto cannons or assault cannons??

For he who can make the enemy unable to hit back only wins the battle.
For he who makes an entire army unable to attack, wins a war. Stay in cover where you get 2+ |

Dreadnought from C: SM can take a TL Autocannon for each arm, that's how.

Thanks to some other players reporting habits it is now customary to run a poll first to keep the thread at the top of the page then not post the report to garner popularity.
Later, if the posting author won the game then he will post the original battle in about a weeks time. If he loses then we could end up waiting much longer.

Hello!
Thank you for your responses!
The game has already been played before the op was posted but a battle report will not follow.
The final result will remain between me and my friend and we had a heck of a time during this match! The dice gods surely had a laugh watching us from above
I hope dakka will forgive me the deception, my intention was simply to learn what you think about the dynamic interactions between these army lists and any possible improvements.
Thank you all

You could have easily posted in the army builder forum then or tactics section.
Whilst its not the end of the world many people look forward to reading batreps and spend a lot of time critiqing and working on them.
Posting something like this dosent really do anyone any favours.

I think C:SM means Codex: Space Marines
As far as I know, a Codex: Chaos Space Marines dread cannot take 2 auto cannons.

Yes, Chaos marines are usually abbreviated: C: CSM.

I had to rewrite that response 4 times to take the vinegar out - my first response would have gotten me a warning.
I am not sure why I click on the battle reports on the top of the page thinking that there is a battle report to read - the ones with polls should be the ones to stay away from.
As much as I like Dark Eldar, I have lost interest here - I will re-check it at a later time when it has dropped to the bottom of the page and let it die slowly. I do hope however the DE won, ah, the theater of the mind is a wonderful thing!

I was expecting an actual bat-rep from spartiatus, he should of posted this in the tactics forum instead of leading people on.
