That's the problem with goals - you can fail to achieve them! I'm actually getting more done than usual... just not a bit of what I had originally set out to do.

I'm off to walk the dog, then lay down a basecoat on those two bases. Wife has a friend coming to watch some movie that I have absolutely no interest in, so I'll likely sequester myself upstairs for a while. Might as well have the thicker sealing coat dry by then, so I can effectively use the whole time for painting. Did manage to find those 5 Forge Fathers that got buried on the desk, so I can continue cleaning parts between layers, while the paint dries. If all goes well, I'll be adding snow and plugging in trees tomorrow, which would make for an actual completed project in less than a month's time. Gasp!

Took me a while, but the Dread and base are done.

Spoiler:

(If you saw the spoilered image, I'm very sorry for the atrocious quality. Temporarily without my camera)

My hobby today is figuring out what the heck I'm gonna do next: assemble chibi flyer, paint a psyker, assemble a rhino, paint my dungeon explorers mini. So much to do and choose.

I got my first of 2 Chimeras about 75% painted and got the second one converted to wheels and just need to clean it up and add some bolts. I also got my Laser Destroyer base coated. So for my one day off this week I am going to finish my Chimera and hopefully get the other one touched up and primed.

I dunno about today. I've got time, but I still feel like crap. It's throat-related so I don't really want to taint my hand brushes with plague germs tipping them...Might do some airbrushing. Might just lay around and be whiny.

Switched from productive airbrushing to hobby lobby supply run. Got some plastic-based push-pin things as potential mounts for various loose infinity arms I didn't want to glue to the models for ease of painting. We'll see if it works out.

I also got some floral arrangement stuff to potentially use for jungle plants:

A bit over six bucks with tax, I figure the conical green things and spikey pumpkins could serve well enough for scatter, or plant life glued down to various board sections (board with 1 ft sections mostly pre-arranged), and the stringy stuff would do well as hanging/creeping vines, which are good for atmosphere and tying in buildings and structures.

Wasn't free, but doesn't seem like it was terribly expensive. I dunno.

Trying to get out a doldrums, having had a few entirely non-productive days. Got 5 Gondor Warriors done, and I'll get their companions done tomorrow for a full unit. I'm still having a blast testing out KoW, but I really need to get some stuff painted! I've set myself somewhere in the region of 50 LotR models to get through this month, but I also want to get back to my Imperial Fists, I'm just struggling with motivation for some unknown reason.

I got to spray my Imperial Assault models today. - It's good to see some actual daylight after work for once!

So, I've marked the base edges for the models tonight. - Mournfang brown for squad 1, Dryad Bark for Squad 2 and Khorne Red for the Elites. - I'll be doing the base tops mournfang brown, so hopefully it won't look too weird but still look.

I put a single base colour on all my hero models, just to help 'spot' them on the battlefield.

Tomorrow, I hope to get the first coat of basecoat on a stormtrooper squad and an Imperial Officer, since they're probably in every mission.

My campaign starts on Friday and I'm getting far too excited about it. I had a theoretical idea that I wanted to try, but probably wasn't good enough to pull off...

However, it ended up the exact thing I was wanting to do was uploaded onto youtube by someone just a few days ago.

I'm going to put it onto the TV to open the campaign.

Desubot, you make me jealous with how well you can paint yellow.

I'm picking up some stuff on ebay atm.

Might build some stuff later. Definitely hitting the shop tomorrow so I can get my next End Times book.

Don't fret, it's a casual game.

I've been doing some more basecoating. I've got to say, I've been wargaming for 17 years now and in all honesty, I think in all that time, I think what I've really been wanting to do is paint Star Wars minis.

@Loki, stock up on willpower now goodsir, for otherwise you are likely doomed. If you just like the models, you will probably end up with all of them. If you like to actually play... you will probably end up with all of them and several copies of certain ships. Dark waters lay ahead... turn back turn back! Noooooooo! Not another one!

Etc. Have fun

Trying to continue work painting PanO. Been looking up x-wing builds and watching games to get an idea of what I'd like to use.

Mistakes have not yet been made. But I'm a huge Star Wars fan and for some reason never got into any of the games.

Also looking at splitting Armada with my brother if it's ever in stock.

I'd have to say mistakes were made, on this end anyway. I blame my fiance for earlier in the week, asking me to find a copy of The Imperial Infantryman's Handbook....

The Waagh increased in size substantially in the last 3 hours. Bit more than I planned to spend this month...

Yup, I just had to do it. - There's 3 in the starter set after all.

I figure I have one regular officer, a Chiss Officer, then the Elite trooper will be in Moff Green.

Looks like Imperial Assault.

Quality looks middle-road, about what you'd expect for that kind of game, and totally serviceable. I may have to consider getting the core game sometime if I ever see it heavily on sale.

Those are from FFGs new game, Imperial Assault.

Good luck finding a copy.

Huh? MM seems adequately stocked so Ensis should be ok.

Ooooh... preorder atm... but the separate AT-ST add-on comes out to $15 on MM.... that isn't bad. May have to pick one up just to have it. Though it's probably comparably cheaper to just get the boxed game if I determine it to be worth picking up.

It's FFG. They might be up for pre order, but it doesn't mean the stock they get will even cover it. FFG star wars be in high demand.

Yeah, they're from Imperial Assault. - The base game is quite widely available in the UK too, Waylandgames had it on sale, actually for a while.

I'd put the model quality roughly halfway between Mars Attacks minis and Dreadball Xtreme's minis. It's also worth mentioning, I had to do a lot of greenstuffing of shoulder joints too.

The thing is, one of the first things I did in 40k, back 15+ years ago, was try to make a Space Marine army into a stormtrooper one. Now, I have models of the real thing.
