Now I may have just been overlooking this, but I recently bought IA 11 and tbh I fell in love with alot of the colour schemes presented in there:
namely the Void Dragon Corsairs and the star of the show Mymeara
There choice of colour is pretty funky imo

and I've tried to find showcases, tips or even the bloody scheme for said paintjob and have so far found zilch
does anybody know of any links/blogs/articles or anything that would give tips on painting this funky, almost pearlescent blue/green mix? much appreciated if you do

YOu might need an airbrish to do that properly. Start with a turquoise base and give it a goos skoosh with green from just below the front. I thik you can get pearlescent paints/additives but I don;t know how easy they are to work with.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

yea im not oeverly sure either, my step-brother sprays cars and he has dabbled in pearlescent but i dont know if it could be scaled down enough - or even if citadel paints could be used, but even then its a very teal colour,
an unusual mix

If you happen to have, or find somewhere, the great colour Scaly Green which citadel unfortunately doesn't produce anymore (it can also be made by combining snot green and enchanted blue, or similar colours), I'd say that would fit splendid for Mymeara.

I just have to get that book...

I remember Scaly green lovely colour
the green tint is far more prominent on the vehicles than normal infantry but even then that blue is an interesting mix...

Looks like a colour shifting surface. I'm not certain how well it does on small models, but I have seen good effects on the larger Eldar tanks using colour-shifting (chameleon?) car paint.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

I probably wouldn't attampt any technique on the infantry as it would be too fiddly, I'll stick to a turqoise/teal colour and try my hand at the funky stuff on all the vehicles
This is all distant in the future atm, apart from some test guardians (gonna wait and see what this Eldar update is gonna be released with)
And i may have to get to grips with airbrushing but that should be a load of fun in the meantime if i get a test guardian done i'll pop in on here and see what you guys make of it

iridescent paints would look good on it.

That is a cool colour scheme, Id agree using an airbrush for it would probably work best.

Hi
Im gonna use my airbrush to paint all my eldar tanks in mymearan-style this weekend. Love to see if you guys make any progress and the looks of it.
Im gonna post here when its all done and I have taken a few pics.

Edit:
I actually painted an eldar objective that I made from the leftovers of my titan. It is painted by hand and using a wetpalette when mixing the colours. The colours I used are Scaley Green, Enchanted blue, Ice blue and white, mixing them when trying to get a nice bleending.

Nice, which colors did you use or mix to get that result?

that is seriously awesome i'm gonna get a test guardian done soon, tho prob without the scaly green as i have none :( and see how it turns out
although tbh i dont think not having the green on the infantry mdels won't be too bad just as long as the vehicles get it

From a basic stand point, that I can tell, the scheme can be made from (Game Color - Falcon Turquoise), a washe of Thraka Green. I am doing tests right now on some guardian bits. Using the turquoise as a base and making the top half asruman blue wash and the bottom half thraka green, comes out rather poorly due to the sharp nature of having 2 different color washes. But If you just stick to the turquoise and the wash of green over the whole model, It has a really nice "Tinted green blue effect." I followed the scheme with a 50/50 mix of the turquoise/white as a super *super subtle drybrush to highlight the edges allowing more blue to show through. This process is actually pretty easy for assembly line painting.

Man that is very good., I particulary like the purple!

If you could freshen up the details a little that would be awsome!

Looks ace, however the green prisms don't do the colour scheme any justice.

I'm on the side of trying color-shift paint. You can get it at a lot of major hardware stores. I've looked around and the guys in the Model/RC car world have used it to good effect. Only catch would be does it work on infantry? I'd assume that it would, though it might take some odd techniques. I bet that a base of colorshift, and then some careful wash work, would probably work. Though worst case you could try decanting the spray paint and treating it like normal paint.

Another odd thought I had for infantry... my lady friend has nail polish that's that color too...

EDIT: Actually...

So
have done a little painting over the months. First of is a Wraithlord, this i painted by hand and a wetpalette for the blending of colours. Im not that pleased with the result, i think you see the transicions to much between the colours, maybe someday I will go back and tidy up him.

Wraithlord

Wraithlord

And I also used the airbrush and speed painted 20 odd guardians. Well it didnt take long to paint 20 guardians and the result is there after.

Guardians

Edit: I use Scaley green as a base and then blend in enchanted blue for the transition over to blue. Later Ice blue is blended into the enchanted and white with the ice blue. This works well I think. If I had the stamina I would go back and blend white into the colours and hardline the edges and later highlight the modell, but thats for another time.

When the weather clears up here in Sweden I will use the airbrush to paint my Warphunter and a Phoenix bomber, both are based white, preped and masked, just waiting for the sun to return.

Cheers
Biscuit.

My main problem is i need to use citadel paints, don't ask why it's a LONG story, I may be starting a new thread asking for help. But good job it looks nice!

Slightly off topic, but still helpful:

If you choose to use color-shift paints, it does take a bit of finesse. I used some Blue-Green-Teal on my Lictors (just the chitin) and it turned out well. (I tried taking pictures, but it's tough to tell)

The catch is that the more dramatic you want the effect, the more layers you will need, and in this case I had to use quite a few layers to get what I was after.

I got my airbrush chameleon paint from:

Hi
I use citadel paints mixed 1:3 colour:water for the use of airbrush
Vallejo Air usually goes without mixing it with water at al.

So I use scaleygreen for the green, mix it up with enchanted blue for the transition. Enchantedblue and later enchanted blue mixed with ice blue and last pure ice blue.

Here is my latest progress:

I think you would be better of if the green rather was purple. To many colors in a colour scheme might harm it quite a lott. The turquoise makes a very good match with the purple. The white is a neatral colour (along with black, grey and sometimes brown) so you can add that. Use purple, or use black, grey or brown.
