However, a brief overview the map is divided into areas with each one having a defended race and mission that goes with it. For the 1st campaign turn the player races (imperial guard, eldar and Gray knight) can attack any area on the map and in subsequent turns any adjacent area. in edition each area has a benefit which can be given to your own army. for my 1st turn (imperial guard) I decided to attack the space marines in order to gain a bolster defense type power. the mission was a battle mission called All round defense and was played at 1000 points.

Early game
Imperial guard had 1st turn and did a general advance managing to shot a few of the deverstaters and kill most of a tactical squad combat squad finished of by the platoon command squad. the space marines countered by blowing up the devil dog with the remaining deverstaters and the captain charged in managing to hit a chimera and the platoon command squad. The commander received a wound in the combat and put all hos attacks into the chimera blowing it up and killing most of the special weapons squad inside and i chunk of of the blob.
Middle
The blob was able to take the charge from the assault marines and then move in to kill the remain tactical marines and the scouts that joined in. the Platoon command squad manged to hold on for a few turns against the captain even tacking him down another wound. the vendeter and auto cannons wiped out the deverstaers
End game
The attack bikes tied up the
PCS and the heavy weapons team but was killed. the bikers came on the fluffed there melta shots on the vendeter. the blob proved untouchable and held the objective with the heavy flamers from the Chimers picking of the scouts. finally the vendeter was able to kill the space marine commander bringing an end to any hope of a space marine victory
