I read the rules for wolf stand and it allows you once a game to reoll 1s, which i don't think is that good.
Why do people always take it?

You reroll all 1's for an assault phase. Any time you roll 1 die and it comes up 1. Examples:
- Armor Saves / Invul Saves
- To hit
- To wound
- Number of attacks for Mark of the Wulfen
- Dangerous terrain
etc, so on.
It doesn't work on Leadership (2 dice) or Difficult terrain (2 dice)
When you really need to rip somebody apart, you pop your standard. That being said, I do not take it on 5 man squads. I usually wait until I run an 8 man before I take it and then it is nasty.

Absolutely worth it id say, its a must take.
When you have Grey Hunters for example lets say 9 of them with an attached Wolf Guard w/ Power Fist going and getting the charge, mark of the wulfen included, think about this
24 regular attacks
2-6 rending attacks
Powerfist attacks
30+ attacks basically
Chances are you'll get to re-roll 5 dice when attacking, potentially 5 more wounds
Then you'll re-roll say, 2 dice when wounding, against a squishy army that could mean another 2 models die
Then you get to re-roll 1's when they strike back, which could mean saving 1-4 GH's
This isnt mathammer at all, just simplified numbers
By popping the standard you could have a huge point swing, they lose more you keep more
Combined with Mark of the Wulfen and my attached WG 6 GH + WG took down a squad of Ork Boyz in one turn with the assault, and the squad was well into double digits Automatically Appended Next Post: I do believe you also get to re-roll 1's when it comes to stuff like sweeping advances, which against non MEQ armies will usually happen atleast once a game if you get the charge

You fail power armor saves by rolling less than three. There are two results that kill you- ones and twos.
You statistically will get to reroll half your failed power armor saves. For 10 points. And any other 1's you roll. Ever been charged by a big mob of orks? This helps out dramtically. Like Pretre said, I wouldn't use it on smaller squad, but large squads (especially with MotW) makes it useful. Absolutely godly 10p item.

It's really good but I see people miss use it, taking it during an opponents shooting phase for instance, in assault it is deadly Automatically Appended Next Post: It's really good but I see people miss use it, taking it during an opponents shooting phase for instance, in assault it is deadly

I think I know what you're saying, but it is important to note that you HAVE to activate it before your assault phase (for example, your enemy's shooting phase) as it only works in 'the next assault phase'.

In a large unit of 9 + WG or 10 they are definitely worth it, for 10pts they are incredible. However if you are only taking a 5 strong unit (most common in Razorspam lists but still work as 5 + WG in a Rhino) then they aren't worth the points, you get far less out of them with less bodies in the squad.

Here's another pretty cool thing I've used once. I've used the wolf standard when my GH with Rune Priest were charged by a GK attack group. Since I re-roll all ones in the assault phase, I got the chance to re-roll my nullify against his hammerhands and such all ones re-rolled indeed!
