Like most people that find out about this stuff, I found an interesting tutorial regarding what Massive Voodoo calls "Dayglow Pigments"
http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2011/10/tutorial-using-dayglow-colors.html
The comments below seem to indicate this stuff could also be called "Daylight Fluorescent Pigments".

I'm not awful at painting 'glowing' effects, but anything to enhance the effect seems great.

I found one of Massive Voodoo's contributors selling it on their site, and it seems interesting, but they don't have it in blue. Regardless, the shades of red look fascinating when it comes to painting fire.

It's sold by the same guy that wrote the Dayglow Tutorial.

Additionally, it seems that the company that makes the fluorescent pigment sells it in enormous bags:

Now I'm used to using Vallejo's Glaze Medium or even sometimes acetone as a medium for settling pigments, but that's only for weathering in therms of Rust and the like.

1-Would this stuff work the same?
2- Does anyone have experience with this stuff?
3-Is it really as 'vibrant' as advertised?
4-Does it go on cleanly?
5-Is it any different than the color that Vallejo's Fluorescent Yellow provides?

I'm very interested in this, but unfortunately don't have the answers myself. The tutorial did inspire me to try out the vallejo fluorescents though, and I've been pretty happy with the results of those so far. I'm interested to see if the pigments are brighter or give better coverage.

Funny thing, actually, Zefig.
I did a search on Dakka regarding Fluorescent Pigments and found that you mentioned their use on your Celestine-counts-as. I quickly stalked all your posts for more images of this and pondered PMing you.

Regardless, I guess nobody has tried it. I'll likely just buy an orange and yellow from Forged Monkey and see how it all goes.

Hahaha, yeah. Make sure you post the results!

I think MajorTom and/or Eggroll might have been talking about using some too. I'm pretty sure that's how I found out about them.

What is this supposed to direct to? The link leads me to a failed search.

I searched the site myself and can only find fluorescent sprays and bulk enamel paints in two colors.
Have you tried these products before?

Well, the link was supposed to lead to a page showing fluorescent sprays and enamels, but that's the cleverness of php or whatever scripting runs their website. Anyway, back on topic...

The tins aren't bulk, they are Humbrol tinlets of 14ml capacity, in other words a similar size to Citadel pots. So, quite cheap to try out.

I had some Humbrol tins about 20 years ago and they worked fine. I had to thin them with cellulose thinners, as far as I can remember, but the formulation may have been changed. My tins were yellow and orange, I think, so the colour range available has been changed.

Fluorescent works best in sunlight, so it won't have as striking an effect indoors.

This is fantastic. It just so happens my hive fleet is a fluorescent paint scheme (obnoxious, I know). The other way I found good neon acrylics was through buying airbrush paints. I needed them anyway, but for small projects I dont need to buy 16ml for something, ya know?

Thanks for this.
