You kind of need the anvil for covering flanks.
1500 points leaves a lot of open space for flanking units, and a melee dwarf army doesn't have much of a chance of getting out on the flanks.
Melee Dwarfs don't really need the extra 6" of forward movement. Tons of T4 guys with great weapons survive well enough crossing the table, and it doesn't matter if combat starts turn 4 instead of turn 3.
Often I see the Strollarz rune a smirk. I'm going to run at the dwarves anyway, so combat is still going to happen early; my dwarf opponent just blew 55 points.
Really, Strollarz only helps if your marching into a gun line, and for that the anvil is way better.
