Howdy all,

After this last tourney I've decided to rework my list. This is what I've come up with for 1850:

HQ
----
Necron overlord - scythe, Barge w/ Gauss - 180 pts
Nemesor Zahndrekh - 185 pts
court 1 - 3x HOD Teks, 1x Pulse - 125 pts
court 1 - 3x HOD Teks, 1x Pulse - 125 pts

Elites

5x Lychguard - Scythes - 200 pts

Troops
---------
5x warriors - 65 pts (2x teks here)
5x warriors - 65 pts (2x teks here)
5x warriors - 65 pts (1x tek here)
5x warriors - 65 pts (1x tek here)

Fast attack
-----------
6x wraiths - 3x coils, 1x pistol - 245 pts
7x Scarabs - 105 pts
7x Scarabs - 105 pts

Heavy
--------
Anni barge w/ gauss - 90 pts
Anni barge w/ gauss - 90 pts
Anni Barge w/ gauss - 90 pts

Total: 1800 pts

Thoughts: So, edited the list yet again... I'm totally obsessed with running Lychguard for some odd reason. That said, I've got 50 points left to spare.

Overall with the list I did the following:
- cut 1 wraith unit
- Swapped CCB lord with Nemesor
- Added 2 scarab swarms
- Added the lychguard
- Cut 2 teks

Overall I'm thinking of adding a chronotek for the guard. The thought is the Guard run interferance, sticking in cover and getting a 3+ cover with stealth normally. Thoughts?

well the fire power is good. The wraiths are great as a assault deterrent. digging the stalkers as they can help with the night fight on your side. nice seems balanced but you never know till its on the table. would suggest ghost ark or two if you have them if not protect your warriors as they will be targeted. Use the barges to knock out all template weapons fast move the fast half off your army forward to distract the opponent just remember if they have any reserves and what they are.

I would personally try to work in a 4th troop choice and another 2 HoD-Crypteks to accompany them. The Lances are going to love the Stalkers' twin-linking, and you could really use another scoring unit at this point level anyway. Not sure about the Overlord/2 Lord/Warriors unit...it seems like a deadly counter-assault unit (since they unfortunately cannot assault out of a Monolith), but I feel like you've already got enough of that in your Wraiths. My preference would be another CCB for the second Overlord. They can be incredibly annoying as a pair.

I think you could also do without the Monolith. The LOS-blocking is really nice, but you already have 2 Pulses to deter enemy shooting. IME, the Wraiths don't want to move at a Monolith's pace anyway and Wraithflight already allows them to take full advantage of LOS-blocking terrain.

I think I'd prefer to have a Second barge, than an Overlord on foot like that. CCBs have preformed well for me in every game.

I'd be concerned about combat resolution in the "Lordstar" as the warriors are going to go down quick in CC. MSS can certainly help mitigate that, but It's till something I'd be concerned about.

You could do a lot of if you Dropped that Monolith as well. You could have a third Annihilation barge, and 120 points to spend around your list. I Think those points would prove more valuable than the Monolith.

If you got rid of the Two lords, and the Monolith you have a TON of points to play around with.

I didn't think about that with the liths... but I do see your point with the Lordstar as well. I think I was trying a gimmick lol. Modified the list!

Much, much better. For your last 10pts, get particle casters for your 2 wraith units for wound allocation.

I'm not having much luck with MSU Necrons... It's nice to have the weapons, but they fold up in any kind of assault (against guard infantry, for heavens sake!!!)

Everything (minus wraiths, spyders, and scarabs) is in some kind of armor tho Honestly, I just think CCB's, Anni Barges, and Stalkers just compliment this list too well NOT to use them. Honestly I wasn't going for armor when I built this list, I was going "what compliments 8 crypteks and wraiths well..." and this is what popped out. Of course, it was different before peeps suggestions tho.

MSU I don't feel will be the way to go with 'Crons in 6th, but as of now, if you field enough other threats (JY terms it "Max Threat Overload" which is a good term I reckon) then the warriors will live, at least for a while. As long as one Cryptek per unit gets back up you'll always have troops!

Despite my prejudices against MSU necrons, this list looks exceptionally difficult to deal with, your wraiths can intercept anything that would seek to close in on your warrior blobs, and that many vehicles is going to be a royal pain to deal with, esp considering all of them a threat in their own right.
I can see it now, stalkers firing and twin linking lances for extra lulz, i'd keep them for the twin linking, and fire support.
Please keep us posted on how it does!

May I suggest to put tyrazin he has great special rule.
When I do apoc games and simply phlonk 3-5 monoliths and ruin the other guys day. This dose not work in 2k lists but whats with all the bardges? You just sniping with large blast templates? Add a monolith instead of a Anni barge

Monoliths don't add anything to the list. What I lacked was high volume firepower to knock out threats reliably, and barges fit that bill perfectly. Necrons are slow, so I needed ways to knock dow my opponents mobility and catch them.

Mulling over the list I'm thinking of making some changes... Thinking of cutting the wraiths to a single unit and cutting the stalkers. Reason being: I wanna run something different! While wraiths are great, stalkers are OK, I think a couple scarab units instead, and mix up the tek's a bit, and maybe run some Deathmarks and Lychguard.

Thoughts?

So I'm thinking... 1850 I'll use 10x scarabs in place of the stalkers. At 2k I'll use 2 stalkers. Over 2k not sure where to put points, possibly more troops and a third wraith unit???

Edited the list yet again. I can either do sword/board Lychguard and throw back in my CCB lord, but I need to then find points for an orblord. Or so scythes and run Nemesor as my Draigo, soaking up wounds and giving my Lyches a huge buff.

How'd they do?
(I'm convinced they're meant to be played with Obyron, so he can Ghostwalk them across the board. That way you'll actually be able to get some use out of them, rather than hoping they eventually make it into combat as they gradually stroll across the field).

Honestly, I'd give them the shields if the problem you are having is AP 3 shooting, otherwise, getting some kind of VoD to get them across the field would be preferable.
