Does this character have any place in even a semi competitive Bretonnian army? If so what kind of army would work well with her?

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character she weighs in at a little over 500 points, can cast from any standard lore, gets an additional +2 to casting Life, adds an extra die to both dispel and power dice and casts a random Heavens spell every turn.

My thoughts
She opens up the possibility of buying another Grail knight unit but the price of it counts against the Lord section and with her massive price I don't see how you could possibly afford to buy a unit of any decent size. She might work as a character to cover the entirety of the Bretonnian magic phase, like a crappy teclis. The problem with that is that then there is no Dispel scroll in the army and it would cost over 100 points to buy a cheapie damsel with a scroll. At that point it seems like too many points are being put into something other than lances or peasants in a Bretonnian list.

Fay Enchantress useable at all?

She is way more points than 500 due to her bodyguard coming out of the lords section per the FAQ

Also bodyguard is not required AFAIK.

For that matter, the 0-1 restriction on GK is gone too. So there is literally no point to buying the Grail Guardians. Put her in a unit of regular Grail Knights... or KotR, for that matter. It's not like she must bunker in a unit with the Grail Vow.

She is very expensive, true. However, consider the benefits.

1) +6 when casting Lore of Life. That is huge.
2) Getting to roll for first turn, instead of praying. Being able to make the first move can halve the amount of fire your units take crossing the board.
3) The free Heavens spell every turn, which takes no power dice, and cannot be stopped.

A damsel with a dispel scroll isn't that expensive, she's only the cost of 4 Knights of the Realm, AND can take lore of Beasts to cover ALL the normal Bret Lores. Imagine the nasty boosts a unit can achieve between Life and the signature Beasts spell. T8 unit of Men-at-arms striking at S5, anyone?

2500 is the minimum I'd consider it, though; 3000 would probably be better so you can get a Lord as well. There is also something to be said for using two Prophetesses instead of the Enchantress for similar cost. In the end, it probably comes down to personal preferance.

She does have a 4+ ward which helps. Any unit she joins gets 5+ ward and MR3 (for a 2+ ward vs spells).
The big problem is the price tag. She's not worth 545 points. If she was 400-450 I'd say go for it, but it seems like she is about 100 points more expensive than she should be.

So unless you want a different lore (shadow, death, metal...) I'd skip her.

Thinking about it more and her funky base disrupts the lance formation. IMO there is only one decent Bret SC and that is Mr. Green

Her funky base does not affect the Lance formation. GW made that clear in the FAQ. She assumes the normal position of a damsel/prophetess, and replaced one of the knights on the side so she (and the unicorn) can still attack.
