Subject: Yes, I am a female hobbyist. Oh, don’t look at me like that!
Well my buddy (Dr. Temujin as he is known on DakkaDakka) has “converted” me to Warhammer 40,00 and helped me pick out my race. I internally thank him whenever I pick up my models, glue arms onto my units, and drybrush Burnished Gold onto the edges of my armor. I curse him when I look at my wallet.
Hmm… more about me:
My name is Ellie.
I have Dark Eldar and plan to go with a WWP army.
I played D&D on multiple occasions.
I have lurked on this site for a few months before joining it.
I only just started a Warhammer 40k army about a month ago and already I have had surprised, confused, and/or overjoyed responses whenever I go to hobby shops asking where I could find the Dark Eldar miniatures. Some ask “did your boyfriend say he needed these particular models?” When I say it is for me they suddenly want to snatch me up. Awkward seeing as I do have a boyfriend…
Wait, where was I going with that?

Frodo: I can’t do this, Sam.
Sam: I know. It’s all wrong. By rights we shouldn’t even be here. But we are. It’s like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were. And sometimes you didn’t want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something.
Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?
Sam: That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo… and it’s worth fighting for.

Astra Militarum Iron Warriors Army: Enyo Company Enyo (Greek: Ενυώ, English translation: "warlike" in Greek mythology; Roman: Bellona), was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. She is also identified as his sister, and daughter of Zeus and Hera in a role closely resembling that of Eris; with Homer in particular representing the two as the same goddess. As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities
