I'm following this paint guide and the guy mentions Basecoat and Undercoat

He says to undercoat in Foundation Iyanden Darksun, then basecoat with Vomit Brown.

Am I missing something or will the Vomit brown completely cover the Iyanden Darksun?

Here is a pic of the Mini-tutorial.

Any Insight on this would be welcomed.

Thanks

Prime Black - undercoat of iyandan darksun - basdecoat of vomit brown - line with fleshwash and highlight with 50/50 vomit brown and white

So yes vomit brown covers iaden entirely but I find it a bit silly. A grey primer-basdecoat of vomit brown - line with fleshwash and highlight with 50/50 vomit brown and white would be much faster.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

It will completely cover it but this sort of thing does make a difference, albeit a very subtle one. I agree with illuknisaa, there are easier, faster ways to paint imperial fists.

It would, which is why it's called an undercoat.

Honestly, I don't how much effect it would have in this particular scenario (not familiar with the particular paints in question), but undercoating can noticeably alter the overlaid color, if it's applied thinly and evenly. I'm guessing that the Iyanden Darksun was used more for expediency than than subtle tonal manipulation, as it's a foundation paint and he primed black.
