Ammunition:
Chem Shells:
The chemical Shells when ruptured on impact spew toxic clouds of acidic posion that eats through armour and flesh alike.

-----Range------Strength------Ap-----------Type-----
---24"-180"----------1-----------5---------Large Blast, Posioned (2+), Ignores cover - Turn 1 *
----n/a-n/a-----------1-----------5---------Small blast, Posioned (2+), Ingores Cover - Turn 2 *

If a double 1 or double 6 is rolled on the scatter dice the shell has ruptured place the large template over the basalisk and roll as dictated under the special rules (#1) section, If taken with a enclosed crew compartment change the large blast for a small blast marker if the shell ruptures

Special rules
#1. If hitting an open topped vehicle count blast as having a str of 3 and rending on a 6+.
this is represent the acidic nature of the chemicals eating at the crew of the vehicle

#2. If an open topped transport is hit, all units onboard MUST make a save, (being wounded on a roll of 2+ Units onboard gain any cover bonuses provided by shields and armour (flickerfield, refractor field, iron halo, terminator armour, feel no pain etc) but DO NOT under any circumstances gain any coversave from movement due to the invasive clingly nature of the cloud, quickly consuming anything stupid enough to enter the gas cloud.**

*due to disapation of the gas on subsiquent turn due to the strong concentration around the impact, place a small blast marker over where the shell landed, roll as normal.

**the large gas(blast) cloud stays during your apponents next movement phase

example: Gaurd vs Eldar
Eldar get the first turn
Gaurd use Chemical Shells
the shell effects everything under the marker, until your apponent finishes his/her next turn then disapates into a smaller cloud

*** if a shell lands directly ontop of a previous (now small) marker, it becomes large again following the same pattern as previously mentioned

This would just murder orks and dark eldar. Murder them. I don't think this weapon should ignore cover AND force units in open topped vehicles to take a save. While it does make sense that gas would invade a vehicle with no roof, balance wise it just leaves something to be desired.

So theres my suggestion. Probably more towards the ignores cover rule.

2+ poison, ignores cover and AP5?

Jesus Christ, that absolutely rapes anything that's not a marine. I think it's a little much, especially considering it's not barrage.

I like the idea, but it might need to be toned down a bit. Maybe 3+ poison AP -? At least that gives orks/guard/nids a chance to make a save, albeit a low chance.

I agree with bforber, tone it down to Poison (3+) (hell, large blast? maybe even 4+) because Poison 2+ on this is ridiculous. And yeah, I also agree that it should be AP-, but I'd be fine with AP6

I'm fine with forcing units in OT vehicles to take a save and ignoring cover, however, the lingering affect is definitely OTT (as in maybe okay in Apoc, but in a regular battle? HELL NO)

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Worth a try, time for an update sorry, been busy with interviews not had time to check subscribed, while removing the linguring cloud rule, im keeping it in to the point of it lasting until the end of the opponents movement phase, just in keeping of everyone moving and shooting at once.

I'd say that it's pretty ridiculous, just because of large, open-topped transports:

Hitting a battlewagon w/ boyz would probably kill 10ish
Hitting a full gorgon would (if I remember the numbers and did the math right) kill 17 on average.

That's a huge amount of death for one shot. If those vehicles didn't exist, then it might be okay, but they do.

Krieg! What a hole...

Gorgon is apoc and has some special rules regarding his open topness IIRC.

With the open-topped shredding like it has, I'd say a point increase would be in order. But that's just me.
