FFG is having a massive sale on Dust walkers, which work really well with the Eisenkern style. You can buy several German walker transports for the price of one DFG Hanomag, and get them in hand by Chinese New Year. Check it out.

Oh, and you were in the 501st, Mathieu? That's awesome! I always wanted to join, but I was a little short, fat, and blind for a stormtrooper.

Damn, I wish I had some spare change right now! I'd love to pick up a plethora of those models and the quonset huts to use for SoTR1949.

Those are some great prices. Unfortunately they don't have the ONE thing I would buy right now on that list... the Konigs-Luther. That I would find the money under my couch cushions for.

That was probably the first model they sold out of.

Oh man I'm late to the party but the VF-1R/GU-11 Gun pod dude is totally a Mantic Elf body.

YES! I'm very happy you identified it. Cheap and easy to source, with uncanny valley looks.

I know peeps love to hate them, and this is totally off-topic, but once I realized how good they look when you paint them as wearing leather armor (instead of weird super form fitting metal armor), I bought a ton of them (and a bunch of tree dudes from Ultraforge and Architects of War) to make an Elf army for KOW.

But now I want to glue on my extra VF-1 Valkyrie heads.

Thanks, man. Thanks a lot.

Glad to share my compulsions.

And I am also a fan of Mantic elves.

So, I guess I'll be the one to say it. Is it possible Mark just meant for their butts to look feminine and not sexualized, but just designed his minis based on a er, gifted model? As an artist, I would tend to use my wife as a model if I wanted to draw or sculpt a woman who looks as realistic as possible, and having been with her for years I tend to think of her automatically if tasked with conceptualizing female anatomy or proportions. Is it possible that's what happened here?

Considering how well-defined the male Eisenkern butts are, Mark was probably just sticking with the same aesthetic, although that doesn't explain the feature-free thigh and shoulder plates.

PS: Am I the only one reminded of "The Pumpkin" from Portnoy's Complaint? Surely not.

Hmmm... is this veiled bragging about your wife's behind?

Are you suggesting Mark modeled his Black Widows on my wife?

Because that would explain a few things.

I did. As a Rebel and a Jedi, so it was a lonely party. Turns out I... wasn't geeky enough for them.

The Dust Walkers also work great for Mecha Front stand-ins.

It seems like everyone I know in the 501st is also in some other cosplay group, like the Mando Mercs or Saber Guild or the Colonial Marines. It's definitely more commitment than I could handle.

What I really want to see, though, is some Eisenkern cosplay. That would be sweet.

I ordered two minis from Mecha Front and still haven't received them. What were the odds?

I've also known peeps in the 501st. Myself the most cosplay commitment I did was as a Klingon

"Your mumblings are awakening the sleeping Dragon, be wary when meddling the affairs of Dragons, for thou art tasty and go good with either ketchup or chocolate. "
Dragons fear nothing, if it acts up, we breath magic fire that turns them into marshmallow peeps. We leaguers only cry rivets!

Okay, now I just think Bob has forgotten that he moved years ago and the people at his old address are sick and tired of getting these models....or they are the luckiest gamers EVER

Mecha Front was supposed to ship this month.

Gettin' catty.

*fist bump*

Anyway, even if Mecha Front hits serious delays, we'll still get the mechs before Dreamforge delivers a single squad of cougars.

Dunno why people think the armor is drastically different. It's almost the same as the basic stormtroopers. Just missing the extra plate on the front of the thighs. And a different faceplate.

Agreed, and it's the reason why I don't really like them. They are boring in the sense that they are too similar to the stormtroopers, yet the troopers are way cooler.

Dude, it's ok if you prefer the tighter butts. Just say so. No one here will judge you.

Interesting how Mark has stopped stopping in. Still, this should be shipping in about 2 weeks according to the last update he gave us, so it's all good.

I suspect he just got fed up with people constantly harping on him for not getting these out sooner, as if he has any control over that.

I don't think anyone was doing that. We were just wanting some sort of answers as to where everything was at. Months between updates was not good, and even then it was only when people (mainly myself) started pushing buttons. The first year (WOW. That's hard to even think about) was alright as he kept us in the loop and had great communications. But then he just stopped, both here and on the kickstarter page. That's when I think things started to go south.

My guess is that he is trying to get as much work done as possible to get the last of the stuff out of the door. Either that or he's done on his end and is taking a vacation.

Maybe even deeply immersed in the next projects.

I'm curious, is there also an arm option available for the 28mm Leviathan that looks like it could be used as a flamer?

Nothing specifically flamethrower like, closest is the nova cannon.

Also just noticed I missed miniaturemarkets Black Friday stormtrooper special, they had the 20 stormtrooper a for $20.00

That's a shame, oh well, maybe somewhere down the line I'll get a nova cannon then and convert that into something a bit more suited as a flamer.

I've got enough for now, thanks though. Just MM having the kits for less than half price I would have snapped them up. Also shows the disconnect if he's trying to get stuff out on the market if he didn't bother posting it here.

Seeing sites like MM deeply discounting dreamforge stuff doesnt shock me. Its got to be hard to move minis that dont have a game to play them in. Not to mention for the people that actually know who/what dreamforge is, the delays in the kickstarter, regardless of the reason for the delays, really takes the steam out of the sails

He ran the same kind of sale last year. I think people are making mountains out of mole hills. Its late. We know its late. He knows its late. And no matter how much 'positive' he May have been getting for updates, its wearing thin on both ends, I assume.

Production has never been in his hands. And WGFactory exploded in popularity.

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.
