Just thought I would share my Necron wraith conversions I recently finished.

I put together a tutorial on how to make them as well. It can be found here:
http://necrontombworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=convering&action=display&thread=169

What I like most about this conversion is that it's made completely out of spare bits (I did not put the warriors in my Ghost Ark and used the Lychguard kit for Crypteks)

A clever use of spare bits. You'd make a good ork. I think they could benefit with the addition of something on the ends of those wire-arms, which don't look very threatening at the moment.

Yeah, they look more "reconaissance" and less "evisceration"-y. I'd like to see some pointy bits. But, I must say, kudos for putting together extra models out of spare parts!

I'm not familiar with the kits.
Any chance for a parts list?

By all means, go ahead! I would be disappointed if you didn't.

You're right, they could afford to look a little more threatening... but then again, they do sort of resemble a stingray, one of nature's deadliest creatures! (insert Steve Irwin joke here) The "wire-arms" are there to represent the whip-coil upgrade. My typical unit of 5 contains 3 coils, 1 particle caster, and 1 plain. The particle caster (shown top right) just has one of the deathmark's sniper rifle bits protruding out of its back.

Thanks! Yes, I had a similar thought after I created them. I often have to remind my self of their fluff and how they can phase their limbs through solid matter in order to kill their target. I can picture one of these guys phasing-out its tail through the body of a guardsman and then re-phasing it in to puncture his vital organs.

There is a parts list inside the link I provided for the tutorial:
http://necrontombworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=convering&action=display&thread=169

• 2 spine columns (Ghost Ark Kit)
• 1 Praetorian tail (Lychguard Kit)
• 1 back half of the Praetorian torso (Lychguard Kit)
• 1 Praetorian jump pack (Lychguard Kit)

I don;t have any of the new Necron plastics yet, so i have to ask the question:

Does using the Praetorian bitz for the Wraiths keep you from building the unit as Lychguard/plastic Crypteks?

Not at all! The kit has two different back halves that make up the upper body. So in this case, I combined the front half with the back half that is used for the Lychguard/Crptek, and with the Praetorian back half, I used it to make these wraiths. So other than your valuable time, these models are essentially free. (so long as you also own a Ghost Ark and don't care about having the battle damaged warriors inside it which contain the pieces to make the tail)

Or make the Ghost arc as a Doomsday Arc.

Pretty cool conversions!

Somewhere.....I hope.

Or convert it into a triarch stalker and use it to make wraiths. It's almost as if the models were designed to convert.
