I absolutely hate spiders too, except Jumping Spiders. I wish these things were bigger so I could have one for a pet!

I like the green ones a little more.

I remember there being a show on them and there was one that solely survived on hunting other spiders if I remember right. Had sort of a fight between a green and a red I think with a really long stand off.

That smiling one is, sadly, photoshopped a bit. Here's a non-edited version of that species. Still adorable.

I used to be indifferent to spiders, but then I saw the movie Aracnaphobia when I was about 5 or 6, then a few years later I was bitten by a black widow... So I really, really hate the little blood sucking super-ninjas that seemingly appear from nowhere!

Still, those jumping spiders are kinda cute, at least they're no camel spider!
One of my mates was joking about how he was going to bring home a camel spider on his last deployment and use it as his new aracnarok for his O&G's. (suffice to say, I fliped out a wee bit.)

Where's my tennis racket?

Also, did you know that it is possible to kill a tarantula by screaming at it?

When I lived in Utah we had jumping spiders the size of quarters that could clear a small room in one one jump.

No thank you. Nothing cute about them.

Every bug dies during the Mass winters, so we're fine from them all!

The only thing we have to worry about are the Drivers.

A lot of spider breeds have hair.

It's rare to see a hairless spider!

I'd have thought it was fur. Same thing I suppose.

Very fine hairs actually, that larger spiders like tarantuals will pull from their abdoman and then fling at someone/thing they feel is a threat! God forbid you get the crap in your eyes, stings & burns like a bloody fether.

Luckily for me, ever since we got our two new kittens almost two years ago now, our house has become very xenos-free! Spiders, centipeeds, mice, sal bugs, moths, bees/wasps... If it moves and isn't human or feline, it's life expetancy is about 5 seconds after Stitch or Loki have spoted it!

I Wish they got that big here! That's a decent enough size to keep one as a pet! I've never seen one locally that was even as large as a pencil eraser.

When I was a kid in St.Louis they had 18 bazillion jumping spiders were cool. The females were furry little teddy bears and like to stay on the sliding glas door. I'd get my face up to them on the other side of the glass and make faces or just watch them. Epic cool (when you're 200,000 times their size and not their breakfast).
