I've been playing Infinity for a while now, and for those of your that don't know what it is it's a great sci-fi skirmish game. It is, in fact, the best sci-fi skirmish game I've ever played. It's fast paced and has some great rules. Fortunately it has some great fluff and artwork too, that's a nice change from the dark gothic of other games.

I picked the Yu Jing for my faction. Yu Jing is a oriental (Mainly consisting of the former Peoples Republic of China that has incorporated Japan, Korea, Thailand etc into their empire; Yu Jing) super power and eternal rival of the other super power Pan Oceania. Altough the factions in Infinity isn't clear cut black and white, good or evil in Infinity, Yu Jing certainly has a degree of "the ends justify the means" mentality and they want to be number one in the Human Sphere, which is the part of the universe occupied by man, and will do anything to reach their goal.

First up are three Zhanshi troopers.

These guys are standard chinese line troopers. They have avarage stats and are fairly cheap and are equipped with the standard Combirifle.
They are good to have around however, because every model in your squad provides and order that you can use to activate figures as you will.
That said Infinity is a very well balanced game and given the chance these guys CAN wreak some havoc!
They were also the first ones I painted and was the test models for the colour scheme I went with. In part inspired by pictures of ancient chinese infantry soldiers in yellow uniform (yellow being symbolic for the Emperor) and partly inspired by Cerberus in Mass Effect

Next up is a Celestial Guard Trooper.

This guy is also a line trooper of a slightly more elite fashion than the Zhanshi. The Celestial Guard are part of the Imperial Secret Service police force and he has some slightly higher stats and BTS (bio technical shield) than the Zhanshi. He can also be a very decent hacker and provide the force with some infowar capabilities.

This is a Domaru Butai heavy infantry. This japanese high tech samurai has good stats and good armor value and two wounds from the powered armor she is wearing. She can be hard to control at times and is geared towards close combat. Now, Infinity is a very shooty game and close combat is often not worth it. She armed with a boarding shotgun however so she also packs a shooty punch.

Last but not least is the Shang Jí Invincible.

Another heavy infantry the Shang Jí has good BS, armor and great BTS. He is fairly straightforward and doesn't have any special abilities or rules but he packs a punch with his Combirifle/light flamethrower combo and is quite survivable (although certainly not invincible ). He can also serve as the Lieutenant.

This game also needs a large amount of terrain. A heebyjeeby large amount.
So I've also scratch built some terrain and bought some items on Tradera (Swedish ebay) and now I have a respectable amount of terrain.

You can view the rest of the terrain in the terrain gallery: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-31462-22709_Terrain.html

Thanks for looking. C&C welcome.

Nice yellow. Was it as hard to paint as they say?

The yellow was not that hard. The vallejo paint had pretty good coverage and a few coats over grey primer did the trick.
The white on the other hand...

I've done some more painting.

First up is the Dao Fei, a rather unique HI. It's the only HI in the game to have infiltrate so far and it's a lovely model.

She is armed with a HMG that packs quite the punch.

Next is the Hac Tao HI. It has very heavy armor, with an ARM of 5!, and TO camo. Very dangerous but I haven't used him all that much yet because he is very expensive in points and a big order drain.

And last is the Guilang. A lightly armoured skirmisher with Camo, Infiltrate and a multi sniper rifle. He can drop mines too! His BS is not the best at only 11 however. It's a very neat sculpt.

I also painted these Order Sergeants for my brothers PanO Military Orders force, which is a military force funded by the church. Basically knights in space.

Not my best paintjob of all time, but I'm still moderately happy with them.

Wow, how did I miss this blog until now?

Have to say looks great so far, and I love the yellow scheme you have chosen for the Yu-Jing! It's brave of you to go for such a bright colour, but I think the end result is worth it.

I love that Dao Fei model as well (really, I think aesthetic appeal has to be the most important consideration when choosing units! )

Looking forward to more !

Thanks! The yellow is vallejo model color Desert Yellow. I paint it over grey primer in a couple of coats. Then I black wash the yellow areas and simply highlight with Desert Yellow! Easy.

Thanks Pacific!
Hehe. Yeah. That's one of the great things about Infinity that you can make usable forces out of the minis you like the look of. Most of the time.

I've one some more painting. Now these are not precisely Infinity figs, but I'm using them for Infinity. They are em4 figs that I'm using as Corporate Hitmen for my scenario I wrote and a civvie to bash around a bit.
The em4 sculpts aren't the best on the market by any means, but they have character and they are REALLY cheap!
I have finished a Hospitalier Knight for PanO that is awaiting being photographed.

Enjoy.

Big Earl, the hapless civvie.

Corporate dudes. The middle one is called corporate fugitive. Probably running from the 70's that want their glasses, moustache and hairdo back.

Not that fond of the em4 minis eh?
Well here is a Infinity one.

This is a Hospitalier Knight for Pan Oceania. He is a HI and can be a doctor or LT. He is armed with the versatile Multirifle that can switch between ammo types but he is slower than the other knights. I think I'm getting a bit better with handling the white now after a bit of practice.

I've made some more terrain.
First:

Four sets of wall sections. They are six inches each so two feet in total. The thought here is that these are going to cut off the table into two sections, one industrial part and one urban part, with two entrances to prevent bottling through one and getting shot to pieces. The walls are made of cardboard (man look at those jagged edges ) but they do the job at least. They may well be replaced by something better looking in the future.

Also made these stalls as cover objects for the urban side of the table. One for drinks and one for food.

Thanks for looking! C&C is welcome.
