Trying to get this dang press mold to work properly.

Im getting way too much distortion pressing directly down.

Im thinking i need to back fill in first then press it onto something instead of rolling the millput into a sheet then pressing into it,.

I'll be converting some burrowing Termite transports for my Squats to use as Drop Pods.

Might convert a Deathstorm pod equivalent as well...

On a sidenote - does anyone know who makes the little drill-pods in this image?

i've been seeing them a lot in images on line, but can't find the manufacturer....

Oh, and I'm also waiting patiently for the beginnings of my Mechanicum army to come in the mail. I can't wait!

Going to head down to the shop today....gonna chit chat about friday's pre-orders and make a quick back up plan...I have an appointment on friday, and I'm not sure if it's going to run over, and I don't want to miss out on my stuff.

See if they've actually solidified the rules for the defensive campaign yet, or what as well.

Think I might actually get some paint on some models today.

EDIT: and clearly I need coffee. I can't type worth beans.

Minimal hobby, today. The pup is at the vet, recovering from a second surgery (the first re-section separated, but we caught it before sepsis set in - hopefully, this one takes!), which actually makes accomplishing anything easier. Most of my efforts are going to the house, though, and I have work tonight.

I do hope to finish up another movement tray, at least. Trying to push forward on my (KoW) Elf army and having set tray sizes to plunk assembled models into, as well as plan out any unit fillers I'll use in situ, helps. Haven't applied a lick of paint, but I plan to batch paint and dip these guys, just to get them done, so there's a lot of building in progress, with plenty more to come. The galvy flashing I got for magnetizing the trays is just large enough that I can get a 10x4-base sheet (or two 5x4s) out of each side (they're 90 degree corner pieces), so this one is earmarked for a spearmen horde.

If I'm feeling ambitious, I might paint a few more details on the neglected (but not entirely untouched!) Forge Fathers. Just leathers, weapons, and minor retouching (post-assembly) to go!

That sounds like an incredibly awesome idea! I'll have to see if there are any Space Wolf players in my new city once I move, but I'll keep that in mind!

Just got back from Ithaca. Further explanation spoilered because I've already over-shared, but it sucks and Dakka is one of my few outlets, so I'm going to type it out, anyway.
Spoiler:
Dog health issue fiasco continues. I'm told he perked up after the second surgery, then steadily worsened. Remained at the local vet under observation, for a while, with increasingly significant fluid buildup in his abdominal cavity. When we picked him up for transfer to the animal hospital at Cornell, he was noticeably bloated and weak - barely even looked like our rambunctious pup (not quite three years old and a corgi - low energy is the absolute last thing you expect). Initial examination at the better facilities showed that the fluid had turned septic, so in he went for emergency treatment. If he survives, they'll try to get him stable enough for anesthetics, so they can address the original issue and re-section his small intestine a third time. When this is over, we'll be down about $10k and I fully believe that the whole ordeal has taken at least four years off of my wife's life. I'm concerned and unhappy, but she's been practically inconsolable. This sucks.

I knocked out that horde movement tray last night and am moving toward filling it with spearmen. Have a dozen already assembled and another dozen bases magnetized, awaiting models. Built a simple jig to lock into the drill press, which should expedite the rest of the base magnetization. The plan is to clean up and assemble models in batches of five, plugging them into the waiting bases as they're completed.

Also planning to rummage around my scrap piles - have an idea for a tool I'd like to make, but can't do much if I don't have the proper materials handy. Production will be a bit noisy, so I'll save work on that and base-hole drilling until the wife wakes up from her nap/feelings-coma.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

In two hours we gather for another day of Warhammer Quest. Sadly, the massive-feth-off-huge order we placed a few weeks back has yet to arrive, so we'll be using basic Quest with a few added odds and ends rather than the hordes of Chaos Warriors and Beastmen I was hoping for. Nevertheless, I'm hoping my Pit Fighter survives and continues to punish everyone with his eleventy-billion attacks a turn!

Spent a chunk of today doing a very novel paint scheme on my Forge World Great Taurus. Basically it's painted as a reflective black crystal effect, so I've divided the skin up into hundreds of tiny diamonds (etc) and blending them to look reflective.

It's going to take many months to finish, but will be by far the best model I've ever painted.

Oadie, you have all my sympathy. I spend a lot of time working with the dachshund rescue groups out here, and I hang out with a corgi group, so I have a certain fondness for the stubby legged ones...

Ran down to the shop, and make sure everything taken care of to get my limited ed codex ordered today.

Chatted for a while about random hobby stuff, and realized I really can't work at all on my list without Stronghold Assault, (and I still need the rules for the campaign) so very little hobby work today.
