If they fit, they'll go in 40mm rounds. Those will just barely fit on a proper sized troll regiment tray so I'll have to make it slightly bigger maybe 5mm longer and wider.

If I ever get to play dungeon saga, I'll deal with he wrong shaped bases then.

Still sick so no goals or plans for the day but I got green on a second troll and the skulk base is sealed. Once that's aired out I'll hotglue a couple of clumps to it. Orclings probably couldn't keep up with the scouting skulks so probably just bushes and flock. Any other time I'll try to stay on the trolls.

Had a fun idea. Probably hard though. For my fellow anime fans out there, was thinking the crew from Trigun would be at home in TNT. Not sure anyone makes 28mm Trigun minis though so I'd probably have to do a lot of sourcing and converting/scratch building. Just a thought .

Get better quick Grimdork, we need more orcs.

I haven't watched anime in years, but I'm sure you could pull it off well.

Trying man, almost two weeks now lol. Finally went to the clinic place because of progressively oranger mucus but still not much they really did. Sticking with my 12 hour decongestant and some steroids they prescribed which supposedly helps with severe allergies and swelling. As long as I don't get overwhelmed by sinus pressure I can be useful albeit a little cranky.

The other two trolls are ready for their metal color. Then it's just eyes and teeth and a couple of quick highlight passes before I can brown wash and seal them. I could get them done, but only if the baby naps long enough. Not holding my breath on that one, just have a feeling.

Also applying the last bit of flock to the Skulks base so yay that.

Trolls are washed, just need to let them dry and then seal. May have them on bases tonight. Won't have their tray ready though.

Skulks are 100% plus base:

Great work, they look excellent as a mixed troop, yet still able to tell what your using them for.

I plan to convert 6 or 7 ax orcs to be skulks eventually. I've got some leftover goblin wolf rider bow arms from ages ago and they're just ridiculously bulky enough to pass for skinnier arms on the larger models. Gonna want to do greenstuff hoods though so they match the current unit.

Trolls going on bases now, need to be able to see how they'll rank up before I build their tray.

Here you go, trolls are done. Gonna try to get their base made tonight though drying time means the best I'll be able to do is spray paint it before bed. Running out of primed orc models.

Nice progress on your Orcs Grim. I think the mixed unit of archers works really well and the base serves to further tie them together. The trolls are cool and look ready to cause havoc upon their enemies, and possibly even their comrades given that they are a bit thick. Great stuff.

Trying to dig out some other Orc stuff so I can get it prepped. Painting time/energy is unpredictable so I gotta have stuff ready ahead of time.

You're really kicking it up a notch on these orcs. The Skulks look great, as do the trolls. Converting their weapons as you've done really helps them as a unit. I was going to start on the DS Undead trolls, but the stone they're all holding makes it an Attack of the Clones issue, which you've nicely taken care of with these models.

The trolls are still pretty samey but the gearswap hopefully pushes that to military uniformity and not just identical models.

Got some paint on the giant but I've put in too many 'hunched over the painting desk' hours this weekend and its making my back a little hurty. So I may wait for later, dunno.

Got the troll base primed too but it'll be a couple of hours before I'm willing to bring that into the house

Dug out the rest of the dungeon saga orcs and I'll probably use them in the next block of infantry. Somehow I have four with big axes and two dual wielding. Out of three supposedly identical baggies.... oh well not a big issue.
I want to do a horde with the front and back rows socketed like some of the slots on the other trays are. Make enough greatax and ax orcs on separate bases so I can swap them out, all of one kind in the front designates which type the unit is.

Not sure what else to do for the Army . Needs either chariots or fight wagons, probably more infantry. Will have a look in the rulebook but I know I'm behind on rank and file and there're no warmachines.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh Orc army, I find your lack of warmachines disturbing... looking through I think I really will have to do another unit of skulks, there just aren't that many interesting unit types in the list.

The troll boss is an option but only if I get more blocks. Right now I have two heroes and I'm starting the giant which is a monster. That eats up the grace of three blocks alone. Gore riders and morax count so I'm already short one. Horde should cover two I think. Leaves me one bit of leeway. I'd like to do a war drum too, makes the units near it have more nerve which is effectively more wounds. There's a wizard too but surely I don't have an appropriate figure. Not to mention I have no flaggers eeep.

War drum would be easy I think, scratch the drum and put drum hitting pads where the axe heads go on the great weapon orcs. Maybe even use the feral looking DS guys .

I Think I like fight wagons over chariots. Building a box and sticking a platform on front of it sounds a little easier than building a chariot. It also leaves room for me to be unscrupulous and cut corners for the boars themselves. With everything but the bottom of the legs obscured, I could possibly source some cheap toys or use other methods , I wouldn't have to make all of the complicated harness stuff that you might need for a chariot.

Ahh well just musing a bit.

Really enjoy your orcs. The skills are probably my favourite of your models to date. They work so well together and the green of the skin is excellent.

Got their base done. I really want to give it some clump foliage or something but there's just so little room and they rank up really well at the moment so I'll probably skip it. Too much glare in photo, giving the poor clear bases a bad name.

They look really good. Put a little bit of clump in one of the triangles between their bases, perhaps?

Yeah if I can get a couple small enough in there, don't want to make t so the bases won't fit.

Those trolls look great. Did you reposition them with hot water, or did they come that way (like most of my DS undead did)?

Nah I think they were all just slightly different from their individual arrangement in their baggies. My undead and demons Re bent flat in places, but the thicker orc and troll models just ad slight bends that kinda help make them less samey.

Zoom in if you like, whatever ended up in focus should be more readily visible if you do

Took the boys out to the garage where the finished models tend to congregate. Still working on that Giant but this may be what I got done for Az's first leg of the tale of painters.
