I am trying to convert some of my normal Destroyers into heavy Destroyer (sicne the "normal" GW heavy cannon is a-annoyingly spindly and b-FineCast).

I have seen a conversion on here somehwere, and they mounted the barrel from a Deathmark rifle on the end of the gauss Cannon, which i quite like.

Another idea i had was to go to a bitz site and buy a couple of the Heavy Cannons you get with the Stalker kit and mount them. I have not seen anyone else try thsi through and am worried the gun will be stupidly big and look ridiculous

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

EDIT - found the pic of the conversion in the gallery

That place over there.

I have seen people cut down two normal destroyer guns at the ends, glue them together then put the tip on. Pretty much makes a double length gauss cannon. Looks bulky to me, but might work for you.

I'll have a look, thanks.

At the moment i am favouring the idea above, but only because i already have the parts....and i'm poor.

I made my own out of brass rod and bits, tamiya tape and some wire, and then made a mold of it and recast it.

Even without any molding or casting skill, I could have simply just made 3 of them though.

The finished bits:
