Fight club is going to see me going absolutely insane with APCs.

Probably more Valkir, too. And a few more odds and ends.

It was shockingly expensive when I mailed you stuff, too. Face it, the USPS hates your guts.

Sorry, that is the actual price 6-10 business days Priorty Mail $42 US add to this a customs form fee and I will pay $45.00 to send two of those little boxes to you. Have a look for yourself. http://ircalc.usps.com/default.aspx

Highway robbery! All three carriers upped their rates January 1st of this year. I think we spent about $14k to ship our smallest stage, stage 3.

Yeah, not to mention the shift to DimWt adders by UPS and FedEx.

Despite gas being cheaper than any time in the past 4+ years.

It was all a ploy to pull more cash. They said it was to be an implementation of box volume and weight to deal with the cubic inch problem in the trucks because everyone was ordering larger packages (amazon and such)... Pfffft then why did my small boxes go up 10-15%? Lies....

Honestly if you are going to order international it is best these days to order big, the price does not go up in relation to the order, there is a nasty base rate that more slowly climbs as you add more.

To be clear, it was not an accusation towards you. I was simply commiserating.

And Bob, you shipped me a bit over 10 pounds of stuff. There was a stack of mdf in there, fer cryin' out loud.

I guess I'll see if Meeplemart is expecting a shipment.

No no no, did not take it as an accusation. believe me I was shocked and in disbelief when I saw the new pricing structure, I was simply ranting about it

Oh good. Last thing I want is for people to start misunderstanding each other on the internet. We've had a good run so far.

I've been spending the last three days ignoring writing a conference paper and instead building all the goodies that I got sent and boy are they awesome!

The female troopers are excellent, all the proportions look very sensible when you actually have them in hand. I especially like the faces, some young, some old and all very full of character.

The Valkir boxes are equally awesome, beautiful crisp details and no one model looks the same (impressive to say that it is a 20-man kit) I noticed that the unhelmeted heads look great on the torsos, really makes the armour more impressive.

While I haven't finished making the command squad yet, I did build the commander and man is he cool! Reminds me of the GW plastic commanders in that he has so much character (though doesn't cost $40)

Really great stuff overall, well worth the wait in my opinion. Good luck in your future endeavours! I'll be back when the plastic Russians decide to show up

Thank you! I have heard some people say the females have 'ghetto booty' I think next to the males from with normal viewing distance they are just what they need to be. The faces took a bit of work to keep the soft female lines while not making them too bland or flat looking. I am pleased with how they came out.

I was a bit disappointed not to be able to build that miniature you had previewed a few months back (the knock-kneed one with the obvious attributes) but I guess it's for the best.

And I would like to publicly thank Mark as I got another shipping notice from WGF today. This must be the replacement parts from the frame 'B' sets.

Yep, just sent my off (literally) as Murphy didn't miss a beat on my order with that one; every APC was afflicted.

Oh well, it's still an amazingly fun kit to build, and at least that part is involved in the tail-end of the assembly. As long as it will take me to get to the interior before I can even think about assembling the whole thing I'm pretty sure the replacement parts will arrive and have gathered a healthy amount of dust before I get around to them anyway. Still, not something to let linger.

This means I need to actually figure out my color scheme for the Eisenkern. :( I intend to paint the APCs in a form of WW2 ambush camo similar to my FoW Germans that I'm attempting to do. However, I'm not sure German Field Grey armor is really going to look that good, as I'd like for the helmets to be more of a dark grey. It works at 15mm, not so sure about 28mm. While it's "modern" warfare the idea of painting camo on infantry always makes me cringe (because I'm an awful painter), so I'm thinking it's going to be flat colors. Thinking aloud, I might go with the stormtroopers in the "stereotypical" stone-grey armor dark-grey helmets similar to the concept models and the modern German dress uniform, then use Field Grey as the armor color for the Panzerjaegers.

This is why I get nothing done; horribly indecisive on trivial matters. Anyone have suggestions on a "German" scheme that isn't a nightmare to paint (go home pea-dot, you're drunk)?

DFG Infantry can look very nice with camo done on them. You just have to be careful and not go overboard.
I'm planning on using the same ambush camo on my Crusader when I finally get around to it.

Call chapterhouse and check with their pro bono legal team, they did some good work for a fair price . Plus GW might just run away if they saw that team again.

I suspect that if Nosegoblin already signed an agreement with the GW about that kit, there's not much that any pro bono legal team could do. The agreement would be binding regardless of any shenanigans related to the chapter house case.

Which is, of course, a pity. I remember drooling over that kit when it first came out. But the cost, oh the cost… Beautiful kit though!

You'd be right of course if it wasn't GW's legal team that wrote the agreement. They failed so hard with all their paperwork in the first case that whatever agreement there was probably isn't binding, or better yet probably will force GW to promote the kit

Hearing that talk about legal stuff kind of makes me surprised that GW didn't try to shut down the Leviathan kit. Although to be fair, when the kickstarter had started we had no idea Knights were on the way.

Would've been pretty crazy to see.
