Hi guys,
I picked up some hacker blisters this week, and they still had the acetate sheets in them.
Trouble is... I have no idea wtf to do with them. It's probably me being dense, but... what do I do with these exactly?

So many games, so little time.
So many models, even less time.
Screw it, Netflix and chill. |

You can cut them out (use scissors, a knife won't work well) and glue them to a hand to represent them hacking. In reality they probably only see it in their heads up display and no one else does but it still looks cool.

I use a small (2mm) magnet glued to the acetate (non-shiny side) and a matching magnet glued to the jazz hand of the hacker (get the polarity right. You want the shiny side facing the hacker) so you can read it).
Mine were also printed at home, though. Laserprinter + transparency film.

Actually, CDK's looks far better than anything I ever managed with them. I tried chromedog's method as well, but wasn't able to get a result that looked any good. Certainly, nothing like the pics on the official website!
I'm not sure if the new hackers come packed with them any more?

Yes, when I was googling for how to use these sheets, i saw the news release saying that Corvus Belli was going to stop packing them in the blisters.
The two blisters I picked up must be from older stock (a Morat Vanguard Hacker and a Zerat Hacker)
Thanks for the advice guys, once I get these minis painted I'll see what I can do with these sheets.
Should probably get some of that clear drying superglue.

you won't get results like the official website without shopping the pics, though.
No, new blisters do not come with the transparencies - not for hackers, not for engineers, not for combine units with nanoscreens or wings. This is why they have the art for them in downloads now. So that anyone who does want them (and has two clues about how to do them) can do them themselves.

I have spares that I did up onto transparency sheets.
I've got a few for each faction left. PM with your details and I'll send you a set (they cost me about 30c to make - and even with postage, it's less than $1 all up, so not worth worrying about asking for money for them).

As far as I'm aware there are no official photos of models with acetate, only photos with the HUD designs added directly in photoshop.

She gets a Nano shield I believe. This is cut out and put on a separate base. It's the same as the Gwailo.

Out of curiosity from someone with a passing interest in Infinity - what is the fluff/background behind the hacking in-game as a weapon?
I've always thought the hacker minis were one of the more cooler looking and unique parts of the Infinity range and am kinda curious about how it relates to warfare.

They do all sorts of cool things, like shutting down/taking over 'Heavy Infantry" and T.A.G.s, defend against such, stop guided missiles, and interact with some terrain/missions (more now in the upcoming Paradiso Campaign book), among other things.
Plus, as you mentioned, they look good doing it!

Some armies like Nomads are particularly good with hackers. They have access to to the Hacker Device Plus which allows for a hacker to "Mark" a target within 8" of them or a repeater. After they Mark it, Guided Ammo, like a guided missile will then automatically hit. No need for a Ballistics roll. Nomads are particularly good at this technique.

Hacker's do all the cool stuff you ever saw a hacker do in a sci-fi action film or book.
Get through high security checkpoints, capture data files, shutdown enemy vehicles and assets remotely, use electronic counter measures to disrupt enemy guided missiles. All while keeping your own teams stuff up and running. Automatically Appended Next Post: And looking cool.
