I have played them for quite a while in Blood Bowl, and am now looking at doing Modheim because of them. My only lost tears are over the fact that they do not have a WHFB army themselves. I want to build one to use in my FLGS with those who would allow it as well as some of my buddies and am looking to the Dakka community for some advice.

What the goal is right now is to have ladies faster than normal humans who hit like a hammer on the first turn of an assault. I want to angle this from a standpoint of your classic amazon warriors. Light on their feet, fast, lightly armored, and next to insane.

This is what I have right now.

Army Special Rules

Spoiler:
Thrown on the Run- An amazoness is a master of the hunt, capable of loosing a spear or other thrown weapon while closing distance with her foe. After charges have been declared but before charge moves have been made a model with this special rule may use their throwing weapons normally, as if it was during the shooting phase.

Camouflaged- A unit with this special rule may use the rules for ambushers. Any unit deployed as ambushers with this rule may choose to be placed in any terrain feature large enough for the unit to fit wholly (discounting impassable terrain) instead of following the normal rules for deploying ambushers when they arrive.

Dodge- Amazonians are lightly armored, favoring mobility over defense. To account, they train their reflexes and rections ao that they may dodge a deathblow rather than block it with armor or shield. A dodge is a ward save in all respects with a variable value (a model with a 5+ dodge would have a 5+ ward save). This save cannot be modified unless and item or ability specifically modifies the dodge characteristic. A mounted model loses all ability to dodge.

Army "Special" Weapons
Spoiler:

Throwing Spear- Strength: User +1 Range: 8' Quick to Fire, Throwing
Jungle Darts- Strength: 3 Range: 12' Quick to Fire, Poison, Multiple Shots X2

And this is the first model profile I have

Amazon Queen (lord)
Spoiler:
M-6 WS-8 BS-6 S-5 T-4 W-3 I-7 A-4 LD-10

Wargear- Light Armor, Shield, Spear, Throwing Spear

Special Rules- Dodge (4+), Skirmisher, Thrown on the Run, Strider, Poisoned Attacks, Frenzy, Stubborn

My biggest concern with her as a whole is her being S-5. I wanted her to be more than a "Man" but less than superhuman. I wasnt sure how "over the top" having S-5 was as a chaos lord is also S-5.

Any constructive criticism is wounderful. I am also having an issue coming up with points costs for units.

Ideas in the making-
1. I would like the entire army to be skirmishers as the Amazonians has no real unit or rank formation. Does anyone find this game breaking?
2. I would like to feature quite a bit of poison in this army as I feel it would be a fairly common thing used in the jungle.
3. I would like to see frenzy appear in most of (if not all of) the units in this army. Does anyone find this game breaking?

Pretre: Are repressors assault vehicles? If they are, I'm gonna need emergency pants.
n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.
Pretre: Thanks! I guess my pants are safe and clean after all.

Not to poop, but I find the best thing to do in these situations is to borrow an existing army and just use custom models. There are SO many armies out there you can almost always find something to match whatever fluff you're looking for.

WoC comes to mind. Or HE. Maybe O&G, but not sure how you would fluff Animosity. I don't know Wood Elves much but maybe them too.

This isn't 40K you can fluff anything. Take the rules for a HE archer and say it's an amazon throwing a spear. And you got ASF. The super-dodgy Amazon scouts are the Phoenix Guard with ward save. White Lions are huntresses. Etc.

The point is, balancing a new unit or two in an existing army is difficult. Balancing an entire new army in WHFB is unbelievably hard. They have entire groups of people playtest/QA this stuff for quite a while, break down all the numbers, compare them to every other army, etc. It can totally be done, I just don't know if you have to. It's taken years for the existing armies to get relatively balanced.

I agree with Duke. I'd recommend Wood Elves, personally. Wardancers and Wild Riders are exactly in the vein of Amazons (those units are based off of Native American warriors). Waywatchers and Dryads would fight right in as well.
If you're looking for an army that's not awful, I could always suggest using my Wood Elf Fandex:

Now, with all that said, I'll offer some perspective on what you've got, above:

Thrown on the Run is a little weird. I know it makes sense for this unit to have, but a question that needs to be asked is, "does it make sense for no one else to have it"? Plenty of armies have guys who could be considered "masters of the hunt", or something like that, but they do not have this ability. I would change it to:

Units with this special rule do not suffer a penalty for moving and shooting.

Camouflaged is also a little weird. Is Ambush described anywhere else besides the Beastmen book? If it isn't, you should write out the whole thing here. Only reference things from the base rule book.

Dodge doesn't need to be a rule. Just explain in the model's description that their Ward save comes from their agility, not magic.

Now, as for the Queen: she should be comparable to, say, a Bretonnian Lord, not a Chaos Lord. She's just way too good right now. She's got light armour, which means she can buy magic armour, but she automatically has a 4+ Ward. She's got Poison and Frenzy, and, the biggest of all, Stubborn Ld10. She's pretty much better than any other Lord-level character.
The more I think about it, I'd combine a Bretonnian Lord and a Hag from the Dark Elves. The first is an example of supreme physicality within mankind, while the second is an insane, poison-using madwoman. Something like...this?

Amazon Queen (150pts)
M6 WS7 BS6 S4 T4 W3 I6 A4 Ld10
Equipment: two hand weapons
Special Rules: Frenzy, Poisoned Attacks, Thrown on the Run, Ward (5+)
Equipment:
may choose one of the following-
longbow...12pts
great weapon...6pts
throwing spear...6pts
darts...3pts
May choose up to 100pts of magic items from the Common and Amazon magic item lists.

She has no option for super-awesome armour, and her Ward save is more reasonable. She's not Stubborn, and her stats are only a little better than the average human commander.

Skirmishers are Not Good in 8th edition. You should have the option for some rank-and-file units, but other than that, I think you'd be fine.
Lots of Poison is fine, but I would say no to global-Frenzy. Just because it's so limiting for you as the general. I would certainly create enough units to allow for an all- or nearly all-Frenzied list, but the option for other troops should be there too, so you can play games that don't involve "run towards them and kill them".
