Second model towards my UM collection.. haha slow and steady wins the race

Finally another captain to compare mine to (ill upload mine in a sec) I think this is amazing. I love your the insignia on the banner, what colours have you used for it? apologies in advance for my picture, its from a blackberry, gonna borrow my mrs iphone when she gets in I reckon haha.

Umm using old school colours.. Scorched Brown, Bestial Brown, Vermin Brown, a mix of snakebite and Vermine, Then snakebite thennnn bleached bone

Your model is so much more in depth, its the layerying colours which I struggle with, It worrys me how long I would actually take if I was to do this haha, but after looking at this I think I may need to start

Yeh dude i struggle with the layering.. sometimes i try and mix to the colours on the model while they are still wet.. kinda helps and use inks and watered down paint washes. This took me a few days to do.... Im a very slow painter...

I just started working on a SGT.

So my finished collection is

Captain, One Scout bike 5 scouts with snipers haha

I am a slow painter too lol, but I know if I layer I'll be a hell of alot slower :O

You should upload your other finished models, I would like to see your snipers and bike.

I have alot of work to do to complete all of my models, imagine 4000 points but 5% complete and 75% based black, then blue with some detail and 20% based black only... I need to pull my finger out.....

Far out i dont have any where near as many i have like a landspeeder storm, and a scout squad left.. i need to get some more though.. got a command squad on its way

yeha i need to actually concentrate and do some long hard work hahaha

And thats why you take your time with your models, there epic!

Once you've painted your command squad you know what to do haha

Omg terminators..... my favourite, never let me down in battles, my mate asked me why I didn't go for a deathwing army and my answer was simple, "i was new to the game and had no idea how beasty they were"

You going for calgar too? i've painted him too but i'll wait for the other phone to get a picture (hopefully be up in an hour or so)

Very nice work, although the one thing which strikes me as a bit odd is the helmet at his feet is green. Unless he's with a Salamander detachment surely it'd be a blue Ultramarine helmet? Just my £0.02 anyway, keep up the good work.

hahaha yeah i know its a bit odd...... but i thought id break up the huge amount of blue with some green.. multiple chapters fight along side each other and die to eacher? haha no idea thought it looked cool bahaha

Calgar is awesome to be fair.

I would give the sword some more blending. Over all, you've done a great job.

Thanks mate.. Yeh i think that it does need some more.. ive given it several washes of magenta and red ink.. so im gonna go over it and try and blend some more lighter colours into the tip and highlight the edges..

Definitely a good showpiece for your army. And those scout bikers look nice as well. Youre going to have a really good looking army once completed

Thank you i hope so. Taking.my time so they come out as good as i can get them!!! Hopefully i can complete at least the three units i have before xmas!!
