I know ths is on opinions and may turn heated, but I really think it is meaningful. So here goes: basically state what unit/IC you believe is the best point for point in the warhammer 40k game? Mine being the mighty tervigon.

I don't know if I'd say it's the BEST per-se but a doom of malan'tai is amazing for it's incredibly low cost (in a drop pod of course)

Being a Necron man, I have to say Necron Warriors. For 13 points a man, you get a fantastic deal. They can kill vehicles, rapid fire low to medium strength enemy infantry to death and can come back after being killed. Their only notable weakness is melee.

Vulkan he'stan is the best bang for your buck in the SM codex. Lysander is also one of the best melee IC's. Kharn is a good deal for his points as well.

Infinitely respawning scoring units. Check and Mate.
As for best damage dealer, that's a pretty tough one. Not only are different units good in different ways, but there are a lot of secondary things to consider like mobility and durability that can effect overall killing power.

Except for the aforementioned TH/ SS Terminators. A 3++ invuln is really nice, and the Meganobz just do not stack up.

Agreed. So therefore we go to a 10 man Nob Biker squad. Sure it's a ton of points, but it'll kill anything in it's path via shooting or assault.
