This is my Basilisk from Forge world. I thought it is a cool model so I got one and painted it up for my Slaaneshi Warriors army.

Comments and questions welcome. Hope you like.

The different skin colors you used really makes this model pop nicely. Great work!

Lovely model and paintjob. I won't start imagining how long this must've taken you. Kudos for sharing and continue please!

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

Wow... I'd have thought it were a real lizard at first glance. The stripes are beautifuly done. The pose and colours make it look like some sort of demonic Chameleon.

Wow, those photos are amazing of an amazing paint of an amazing model. Seriously though, this is really good. I like how you shaded differently, but I don't quite see how it fits with the Slaanesh army. I am working on a khorne army, and that model seems like it would be tzeentch or nurgle, not as much slaanesh. But, this is still really good.

Thank you all very much, I really glad you like her, (I've decided that it's a girl). Getting the paint into all of the scales was very hard, I had to use washes to get it right. This thing was one of those models that I start and I'm not sure where it is going and each section requires more thought. I wasn't really sure I was happy with it until it was done. I often find that hard models like that can turn out to be some of the best ones. I learned alot from her and that will really help in my next task, the Mutalith vortex beast. Got it today and I soooo had to paint one of those when I saw it. Also it's better in game terms than it's bro, the Slaughterbrute and its a cooler model with that swirly-thing and all the tentacles, everybody loves tentacles.

AHHH! yes, that's what everybody is going on about. I would of been more precise in my thread title if that had crossed my mind. FW do some sort of Basilisk tank don't they, wouldn't surprise me because FW do loads of tanks. Getting good photos mainly relies on good light. There really is no substitute for daylight, I cannot stress that enough. Electric light will most often give a yellow tink to the pics or wash out the colours. Also make sure that you are completely still when you do it.

I can see what you mean, the sly nature of it would imply Tzeentch and the poison makes one think of Nurgle. I think of it as a pet for my Slaaneshi force in these terms. It is hungry and will gorge itself to extremes which the Slaaneshi will encourage and idolize. Also it's vicious nature and malevolent intent will please the Slaaneshi. She is also a pet in her own right to them, not just a means to power, in other words my leaders will croon and pamper her purely because they enjoy and care nothing about her battle prowess, which is high in any case.

Interested to hear you are doing Khorne. I will be doing a Khorne army after my Slaaneshi one. I got a bunch of the 80's era Khorne champions I sooo love and I have alot of Chaos warriors a Chaos knights. They were going to be in my Slaaneshi force but they were just too bulky, so I'm using High elf types instead (converted of course).

Thanks again to everybody.

Haha, you are welcome I thought of buying a Basilisk too, but went with the Death Guard Contemptor instead. Oh well, now I know what next my wallet has to fear.

I started it by painting it's skin light green. I then drybrushed it up will several greens to a very light drybrush with white. I then gave a green wash. I then worked it up with skarsnik green and used green ink to shade the areas near it's back. I then used a moot green drybrush to lighten that area. The darker back was painted with cold greens and then given a black wash and then a green one.

Hope this helps.
