You never disappoint my friend even with the littlest of change you create interest and excitement, ratty is coming on fantastically loving the pose although the ruffles on the arms makes him seem rather regal or is this your intention ?

Do not change that rifle for the Admech I beg of you, you have a stunning original piece there that looks exquisite keep it please it has a nice balance to it but portraying a mix of designs at the same time.

Thanks inmygravenimage!

Some more minor work:

GS work on Ratty - at the neck, and on both arm joins:

Rogue Trader Captain - decided to change the arm holding the cutlass, the behind-the-body pose was cool but really unbalanced the model:

The pommel on the cutlass definitely needs to be smaller, yes:

The plastic sleeve on the left arm will be sculpted over (of course):

In regards to the cutlass - sad news, the plastic blade I shaved into submission split, so good news: it's forging time!

In regards to the sniper rifle - the original weapon as shown has received overwhelming support (on four different blogs) so she'll be keeping it.

Thanks all!

Glad the sniper rifle remains would have been a shame to lose such an exquisite weapon

Ratty's arms look much better now you blended them in, before they seemed a little detached but works well now.

The captain does work better this way more balanced so good call on that I do kinda see what you mean about the pommel but at the same time it still works kinda an over extravagant embellishment.

Also something about the flow of the plastic arm works, have you considered just altering the chain mail but leaving the fabric section as is ?

I only mention this because it makes me think the coat is designed to allow her arm more freedom when using her sword, so it sort of fits the scheme plus has that strange rouge trader quality to it but that's just my opinion.

Overall great stuff once again and looking forward to the next update mate

Hey LDD - thanks for the comments
- I do like the pommel, it's actually not as bad in real life, so I might leave it
- totally correct with the sleeve - I intend to only fill in the chain mail but leave the sleeve short
(Slight logic flaw there: the cutlass will be sheathed in a baldric rig on her left hip, but her left arm is her sword arm... but what the hell - logic never stopped GW, right?)

Thanks all!

So a pile of bitz arrived in the mail today - Can anyone spell bandwagon? :

Took the lower half, quartered the top of the ab section, drilled some holes - mmm, what could they be for...

Well... to get us to this stage, of course:

Can you guess where this is heading?

So LeCacty almost has it - clockwork custode!

Just to show the 'workings':

It's a lot more subtle with the torso in place:

Oh - and just in case anyone thought I was completely bonkers - no, it doesn't work...

Yet!

(cue evil laugh) mwahahahahahaaaaa!

Great idea and looking believable so far, could I just offer a suggestion though have you considered adding some kind of rod supports going from the torso to the waist maybe 2 at the front and 1 at the back ?

Either way the best conversions I have seen of these to date

Make the next one work! No but really, the amount of detail you put into the clockwork is probably illegal. You should use maxminis steam knight noble heads. I think they are made for custudes plus they have STEEEAAAMMM in the name!

Thanks LDD:
- I've tried to get support rods in there but there's not a lot of room

Thanks LeCacty - I'll take a look at the heads, but I like the Sigmarite heads already

So, back again after another (deployment) hiatus... something new to knock the cobwebs off the skills: another Wretched Sons true-scale Marine... with a difference:

Recognise anything in this pile of bitz?

First up - let's mod those awful split toe-hoof thingies...

Next, get rid of the ugly triple shoulder armour:

And start work on some new armour for the tenta-shoulder:

Thanks for looking

LDD - the 'tease' is how I prep/plan(sort of plan...) for a conversion - a whole load of bitz I think will work together - some get used, some don't...

Ok - back again after yet ANOTHER deployment...
Working on ol' Gutrot:

Sliced off whatever that ugly face was on the left rear hip:

Added the pouch (cos even dudes with tentacles need places to put stuff...):

Press-copied the gripping tentacle part:

If you hadn't picked it up from the 'tease' image earlier, the main 'arm' tentacle will be holding a bolter - hence the press-copy of the gripper... so after some minor gun mods...

Pinned and glued it into position - unfortunately, the GS and milliput didn't mix very well (lazy mixing on my behalf) and was crumbling as I drilled it, so I had to cut away a lot of the tentacle part and super-glue the b-jebus out of it to make it solid, hence the ugly bits:

And then sculpted the remainder of the tentacle:

It's pretty rough for now, but once it dries I'll sand it into shape and smoothness:

While sculpting the tentacle I noticed the old style bolter (from Forge World) was really plain and dull, so it requires some detailing next, and even this servant of Nurgle needs a power-pack for the remnants of his armour - so still plenty to do...

Thanks for looking!
