Hmmm, Barzam, what kind of light are you using? I tend to have a LED day bulb on my workstation seems to get the colors pretty much right on.

lol, it's just the lights on the ceiling fan above my kitchen table. That's where I do all my photos since they're not yellowish lights and it's where I can get the most lighting.

Just got news from my dad. He found a Gui-leng sniper for me while in Canada. Yay! I also got my Maghariba Guard today. That box was heavy. On the downside though, it was missing its base. Anybody around here know what size base that thing's supposed to have?

The Mag doesn't come with a base, it is one of my biggest gripes about the model.

I didn't base mine, the thing is so thick, heavy, and has such a solid balance that it really doesn't need a base. For my logic, if they wanted me to base it, they should have given me one in the first place.

I get into some trouble during tournaments with sticklers over that.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you get it all painted up. You REALLY don't see too many of them painted up, and it is one of my favorite models in the Infinity line. I love using it. And I'm really really looking forward to seeing that updated version too! Scary Scorpion Mech!

I believe it is supposed to be on a 55mm base, or something. It was the only TAG (or unit in general) in Infinity that had a different sized base than everything else.

Really? They didn't give it a base? That's really weird. Why picture it on one then in the official photos?

I'm both looking forward to building it and not looking forward to it. There's going to be a lot of pinning on that model. I'm also not sure how I'm going to paint it. I'm torn between trying to camo it and just putting a basic tan/green scheme on it.

I do intend to get the redesign at some point, too though. They'll be neat to have together.

Anyway, back to tinkering tonight. I'm going to try and begin assembly for the Maghariba and my new PanO hacker. I'd like to get the hacker done by the weekend, so that's my current goal.

When Infinity first came out, there were the normal sized bases (25mm? 20mm? I can't remember)... your basic infantry base. And then you have all the TAG and Remote bases. Which I think are 40/45mm. And that was it, so they made EVERYTHING fit on either one size, or the other.

Then they released the Mag, which they showed on a base, but they didn't have a base for it, and didn't want to make a custom base just for one model, so they basically said you gotta build your own.

Naturally, the damn thing is the most awkwardly sized model on the planet. Nearly everything that is made out on the market is just a LIIIIIITTLE too small or a LIIITTLE too big.

Now that they're doing Infinity V3, they actually updated all the bases, and now you're supposed to be mounting all your TAGs and Remotes and other big stuff on larger bases...

...which I am not doing, becase *words redacted due to extreme profanity*!

I already based all my stuff, lovingly painted it, sprinkled snow on it, and it is done. I'm not rebasing my crap because they had a change of heart, that's a lot of work on stuff that I had already thought was done.

*pants*

Okay... yeah, sore spot for me.

Anyway. I still love the game and the models. Its my favorite game on the table by far. And I love the Mag, it is easily my favorite TAG.

I recommed pinning the little forearms that are its guns. And take the HGL, that think is tits. Otherwise I didn't pin anything else and I throw it around like an old Dreadnaught. Every now and then one of the legs will pop off, and I'll just glue it right back on. She's a pretty solid mini. Whatever paint scheme you go with will be great, that I'm sure of.

I began the Mag's assembly last night. I wound up pinning just about everything to be safe. But OH MY GOD that "groin" section! The GAPS! They were fething huge! I used much liquid greenstuff to try and fill that, but I imagine I'll be using more tonight to try and smooth it out. The thing is a lot smaller than I was expecting though. Heavy, but way small.

Yeah, it doesn't quite match the bulk of the later TAGs, but it certainly has hella-heft.

And yeah, the gap where the legs go together in the middle is just godawful. Thankfully it isn't really that bad once it's all together and he's on the ground.

Mags goes on a 75mm base, supposedly. Yeah, huge. But if you could fit 'er on a 55mm that would be fine, given that that is now the current size base for TAGS, except the mini TAGS like the Gecko.

Well, the Mag is going to have to go naked for a while, I think. Likewise, my Iguana is going to have to go with his ugly base extension.

Speaking of, guess what I've started working on!

Obviously a very early WIP. I'm hoping that I've got his green matched up with my Anaconda. I want him in a matching scheme. It looks like a match, but I'm really not entirely sure. I don't remember what green I'd used on the Anaconda. Now, if I ever get any of those Zandris not-TAGs, I intend to paint them to match the Anaconda, too. I want all of my mercenary TAGs to share similar colors, so that way they look like they're coming from the same mercenary team. And it just so happens that my Corregidor will match up fairly well with them, too.

I also achieved my goal. I got my PanO hacker assembled and fully painted, which means that I'll be doing some dipping this weekend.

Along with him, I've been working on some more gladiators. This time though, they're Reaper gladiators, but hopefully they should fit in alright with my Urban War ones.

I don't like his dopey looking half mask, but otherwise he looks decent.

This guy and the other Reaper one I got are surprisingly large though. They both tower over my Urban War Retarius, as you can see here.

So, I suppose they're using artificial growth hormones on the male gladiators?

Tonight I got around to painting the random zombie I'd found for about a buck.

His pants look very blue in person, which makes him look like Fry.

The important thing though is the Iguana. He's nearly finished.

The final colors are down, I just need to clean up the left arm and rifle a bit, attach the ammo feed, and apply decals. His torso seems a little bare though. I think I might do the gorget/collar armor in tan as well. I'd done it like that on the Anaconda, so having that visual consistency would probably be a good thing.

I also brightened up the green a bit. I was looking at my Corregidor troops and I noticed that the brighter green I used on them actually seemed to match up to the green on the Anaconda. I think I'd used Vallejo's Flat Green for those bits, so I went and redid the green bits I'd already painted on the Iguana. Now, when I get him dipped, he should match with my Anaconda.

He does look like Zombie Fry.

I really want an Iguana... really really want an Iguana. I think it is the best looking two legged TAG in the game right now. Hands down.

He also reminds me of a Turian for some reason so that's always a plus. I think it's the collar armor.

I like the greens, and definitely looking forward to seeing him dipped!

I think the Iguana might just be one of the more intimidating TAGs to paint though. But, I'm just about done with him. next stop, The Dip!

On the downside, I'd wanted to have the ammo belt running from his rifle to his backpack. The damn thing broke twice on me while I was trying to glue it in. I guess somewhere down the line, I'll have to make an order from Zinge Industries to get some flexible resin ammo belts.

Well, at least it doesn't totally ruin the look of the model if it's missing. I just got him and a bunch of other figures dipped. And of course I managed to drop the Iguana. I didn't seem to scratch any paint off (thank God), but I did know his left arm loose, which I noticed after I'd already started applying the dip. Hopefully some of the dip got into the join so it could glue the arm back in place for me. With luck, I should have the Iguana totally finished by Monday.

Nice! Sucks you dropped him though. I've got a custom enforcer sgt (energy glove) who had magnetized arms and head so he could be an assault enforcer. Dipped him, tried to remove punchglove thing and it snapped where I glued it before the minwax gave up! Iguana is probably fine

I learned not to mix magnets with dip when I tried a practice run by dipping some space marines. One of them had magnetized arms. It wound up being such a mess.

Well, I managed to repair the arm. Thankfully, nothing broke and none of the paint seems to have scratched. I think I'd have been more pissed if the paint scratched than if it actually broke somewhere. Man, am I glad I pinned the hell of this thing though. I think about the only pieces I didn't pin were the head and the backpack.

Zombie Fry, Lol. Great stuff. That Iguana looks very cool. I like the colors, very QK.

Grim, I've been using a paintbrush to apply the dip. It works so much better than dunking the figures in.
Okay folks, I finally got around to taking some pics of some finished stuff.
I also though I'd trying putting my pics together vertically so that they don't get shrunk.

First up, the long awaited Iguana.

My impulse buy PanO Fusilier Hacker.

And I finally got around to actually finishing my third Afterlife AJAX powered armor from their Kickstarter.

Got my Reaper zombies all nice and bloody.

Dammit Fry! You wandered into my shot of the zombie dance party!

And here's where my current zombie horde stands.

It *so* looks like fry. I kind of want to go get one and paint him similarly so I can have my own. The iguana looks great! What are you using for decals? So you're just using a large miniature brush to put the paint on? Or a sponge brush? What do you use to keep it from hardening, mineral spirits or something else? Thanks

I like the zombie horde!

I just use the smallest house painting brushes I can find from the local Dollar General. They're only about a buck. I just toss 'em when I'm done. The brushes themselves are pretty crap, but they get the job done.

Ah ok, I thought that was what you were using. I still get a lot of mess with those myself. I kind of like the sponge brushes for dipping the terrain.

I haven't tried using the sponge brushes to actually apply the dip, just remove it. How well do they work at application?

I have a few new photos. I started work on the Guilang my dad picked up for me. It isn't the most interesting paintjob though.

Believe it or not, but I actually finished the entire 5 man Storm Trooper squad I'd picked up.

Imagine that, I actually finished a set.

And lastly, the recent updates from Anvil Industry have given me the urge to get back to work on my Afterlife figures. So, I got back to work on my Unity Council Marines. Only two to add, but one of them is the medic (guy with the pistol). I'm thinking I'm going to try dipping them and see how they come out.

I like the Afterlife minis a lot, what material are they made of? Good to see the work on the old Stormtroopers too, I have always loved those sculpts.

I use the sponge brushes to put the dip on the battlezone terrain. Kind of like I'm dry brushing, but not really. But similar in concept that I'm wiping away most of the excess so it just puts a coat on the surface and doesn't leave much to pool or drip.
