A very short and to the point question.

Feel free to cite an Inquisitor (who aren't Abnett's main characters) from any GW source - video game, novel, comicbook, FFG's roleplaying games.

And explain why.

Who's the Inquisitor that got to speak to the Eldar at length, even so far as seeing the Black Library? Not Czevak, was it?
Anyway, whatever his name was - him. His quotes seem to suggest he's got a much better noodle of things at large than the otherwise over-zealous, self-squabbling orders.

It was indeed Czevak.

Inquisitor Commodus Voke is my pick.

Only a true heroic manly man has the sheer stones to knock on people's doors, asking if they are heretics.

NONE of Abnett's characters? Or just not his two main characters?

Because if it's the latter, I pick Quixos. Use ancient Necron artifacts to shut down the Warp for good? Heck yes. And he would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids and their stupid daemonhost...

If the former, however, I will have to pick Amberley Vail as a very distant winner-by-default. (Since my top five or six picks would have been DQ'ed. Sorry, I just think Abnett writes the best Inquisitors...) She has a subtlety that a lot of Inquisitors lack. I like that she can still be cold and frightening without having to act like a hooligan.

Welcome to the Freakshow!

I agree.Even if the mad fools " fire break " idea of exterminatus on worlds to deny the 'nids biomass was a bit crazy, even for the inquisition.

Just the two main characters - i restrict them simply because Ravenor and Eisenhorn tend to be popular in the larger category of literary characters.

I do have to say that this thread has produced some rather interesting choices though.

Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

Vail for sure.... And i dont even know her story, but female inquisitors have to be hardcore when you're in the same class as "'Mr Im too awesome to walk and must ride in a Huge chair 24/7", or "Aliens are coming, lets burn these planets so they go away"

Lol

Well it may have more to do with the humor of her writer, but Ms. Vail seems a lot more level-headed then a lot of her other fellow inquisitors that have been presented to us over the years.

In fact her normality makes her quite abnormal, at least amongst her literary peers.

I don't believe they have named the Grand Master of His Ordos of the Holy Inquisition, who is, indeed, one of the High Lords. For all I know, it might be Inquisitor Clouseau.

From the "Duty Calls", pulled from the Lexicanum:

"Some Inquisitors believe the Emperor’s work is best done by charging around the place like a grox in a ceramic emporium, leaving a trail of carnage and destruction in their wake, while others prefer not to let the enemies of all that’s good and holy get clean away by making it blindingly obvious they’re coming for them."
