Hello everyone,

It's been a very long time since I started a P&M blog and I really missed it, prior to this as some of you may remember I did my Astral Claws and then never finished, which was a shame as it was a very viewed topic.

I have quit playing Warhammer 40,000 since 5th edition and I have been greatly enjoying both DUST & Infinity.

Today we will start with some shots of some nearly finished walkers. The bases you see them on are temporary bases, these will be used to place tank traps and ammo dumps on for terrain, I just wanted to use them as I painted... no clue why. I have dust studios sand bases coming, the rest of my force will be painted Afrika Korps and I have started on three which I will post pictures of tomorrow.

Below are the mostly finished walkers. The Hans light walkers are all in three different Urban/Night camo schemes. The Loth Engineering Vehicle is plain black with rust. This is my first attempt at doing camo and weathering/rusting.

Thanks for looking.

Looking good. Not sure how I feel about the rivets being covered on the bases, but that is personal preference.

Thanks for the compliment.

The walkers are only blue-tacced on. I plan to put them on the premium desert yellow bases from dust-studios but I agree 100%. I really hated the rivets being covered but I worked on those bases at around 3am, I think it shows. lol

Welcome back! I don't know much about Dust & Infinity but the models look pretty good.

I like the weathering you gave them and I like the camo. Cant wait to see more

Hey, thanks a lot brother!

Update: March 27th!

I did some more work on my 3 medium walkers today. As you will notice in the pictures below I have taken the time to magnetize all of the weapons. The right arms for every walker are swappable between each unit as are the left, this allows me to create different loadouts such as the original Luther pictured below (which is not in Tactics or Warfare..).

I also did some work on some terrain for our DUST Games, whether Tactics or Warfare. I plan to prime these and begin painting them as I work on my other items.

I also got my 3 armoured cars today and have begun some work on them.

Pictures below, enjoy.

looking good so far. cant wait to see more.

Are there tanks in this game? or are they all walkers? just wondering cuz of the tank traps.

Where do you buy your magnets?

Hey Bro,

There are tanks in the game, basically anything that existed in WW2 can exist in DUST. The Soviets (SSU) have heavy tanks and super heavy tanks as part of their armies. You can convert any 1/48 scale kit though into the world of DUST.

For example later I will post the 222 armored car I am working on with a turret from a dust walker installed on it.

Tank traps stop walkers to. The single ones are designed to be impassable for vehicles/walkers but difficult only for infantry. The double tank traps are meant to be impassable for everyone. I hope putting them all on bases was a good idea, I just got sick of terrain moving around during play or needing to be fixed!

I get my magnets off ebay, I think the seller is Neodynium or something like that.

Hey lil bro, definitely join in posting the work on your DUST stuff as you do it, I really look forward to seeing yours and I am glad I convinced you to get into it.

Here's a brief update, I'm working on my 222 Armored Car and my Puma right now, mostly assembling and painting. I will probably post some updated pictures of those tomorrow. Here is some shinies though:

First up, my DUST Studios collection. I need to build and paint all of these, the intention is to do this by the end of my blog.

Next up, the WW2 vehicles I will be DUSTIFYING.

Hey guys,

Sorry it’s been a few days since I updated, I hope this was worth the wait. I’ve got the base colors down on these 5 vehicles. They still need to have gear/stowage placed on as well.

First up we have a group shot of a Luther, Ludwig and Lothar with a Nordwind (Puma Conversion) and a Flakmeister (My own creation based upon one of my favourite vehicles). A write-up of the Flakmeister is below all of the pictures.

Here we have a Luther Medium Walker.

Here is a Ludwig Medium Walker.

Here is a LOTHAR!!!!

The Nordwind, sans accessories

The infamous Flakmeister!

A KV-47 Walker captured by the Axis and re-armed with more appropriate weaponry. This unit is nicknamed the ‘Otto’.

These are a pair of Jagdluthers. One of them is Nachtjager and will have Sigrid standing on top.

SD.FKZ.224 ‘Flakmeister’

Flakmeister spotted conducting anti-air duties in 1947.

Late in the summer of 1947, beleaguered Axis forces on the African Front found themselves facing a newfound threat of allied and soviet airpower that threatened ground forces that operated without air support.

Field crews quickly put the aging SD.FKZ.222 chassis to use, converting the armoured car into a fast moving vehicle that could strike at enemy air assets whether in a squadron or as singular support vehicles attached to platoons.

After numerous complaints from the crews field testing the vehicle about low ammunition and lack of stopping power, the 30mm ZwillingsFlak from the Schwer-Panzerkampflaufer VI-D ‘Sturmprinz’ was mounted on the 222 chassis with very little work required.

Due to these modifications and the increased effectiveness of the weapon, the new SD.FKZ.224 has been dubbed the ‘Flakmeister’ by Axis Soldiers.

Some really decent paint schemes. so ww2 kits in 1:48 scale? aircraft included or just ground support?

i mean can you only use ground based kits ie tanks and armoured cars, or can you use boats or aircraft that would have featured in ww2? ie landing craft? if so then Dust seems like the way forward for me. always liked ww2, and mecha (it has mecha and is ww2- alternate reality)

Thank you Orkimedes. Yeah you can use basically any WW2 in 1:48 scale in the DUST universe, the magazine Dust Chronicles also has rules for converting standard vehicles into Dust. There are boats/aircraft as well, with specialized variants of both for sale and use in games of Dust. Most recently they introduced new aircraft for Axis and Allies, so I plan to add my new fighter jet into my Afrika Korps force as well. Thanks again for the comments.

Update: April 01, 2013.

Here is a little Group Shot of the WIP Afrika Korps vehicles. I still have a long way to go. I've picked out the initial details, done the metal and applied decals/put clear coat over the decals to protect them.
