I have to ask, how is this any different to any of the existing army builders I can download and take anywhere with me? You're restricting the use of it by it being online.

Well, it's on a website and thus usable with any Internet-capable device you have available, rather than being tied to any certain device or platform? It's a completely different beast from software that you have to take with you. It's like asking why bother with YouTube when you can just download the videos and take them with you

It doesnt work for me.
What browser should I use?
Do I have to sign in? (didn't work either)
Do you have to be logged on to view others lists?

Excellent,

I was able to create an account and build a sample list. The point values (for Orks) seem to be accurate and I noticed no mathematical errors. It seems well built from the sample I did.

Maybe a return to created lists button?

I like it overall! Made a space wolves list, all the options were there and the math seemed right!

I had noticed its on a website. My tablet that I take to gaming events with me only has WiFi capabilities meaning no internet access at most of them. I do however have an army builder app on there that resolves the problem.

It's nothing like asking that, YouTube is a different resource altogether from a normal video download. The videos on YouTube aren't the sort of thing you'd download to take with you.

Sorry, no plans to implement any offline version. There is plan add export to some offline viewers formats (txt, pdf etc.) but not offline work.
Pro and contras as for any other SaaS application:
pro: easy sync rosters with different devices, easy online share, fast and easy updates, always last version, platform independence.
contra: internet connection required.
I'm sure, pro much more then contras
> to tvih
No special device. Works fine on Android tablet, or on Linux PC. Just need modern enough browser. That's all.
It's like asking why download the videos if any of my devices (laptop, tablet, phone) have enough "brains" and speed to show video from YouTube
> to Vombat
I think it's my bug. Could you please tell what browser and OS do you use? Most tested on Google Chrome and Firefox.
You must sign in for copy-edit roster, but for view shared signing in is not required.

Well then substitute YouTube with say, Netflix, if that makes you happier due to a more accurate analogy

Very good stuff! Just to test, I ran my Eldar list through it and the calculations were correct, very cool.

I played around with this a bunch. With DA, C:SM, CSM, Necrons, and Orks (I have access to these books) and it all looks good!

Things I would suggest (as a developer myself):
A save button at on the list builder page. Something that lets the user know they have finished editing their list, and returns them to the list selection/creation page.

Some incorporation of allies/multiple FoC. I know it's in beta, just something to eventually add in there.

I like that it informs you that you haven't made your 1 HQ and 2 troop choice required selection, but it shouldn't do that at the beginning of creating an army. It should once I try to save. With maybe an option of save anyway or edit from there. If you have the list without the minimum, you maybe have a mark on the list page that indicates it doesn't fit the regular FOC requirements.

The ability to change the FOC requirements, in case you are playing a game with a different FOC layout.

Some very minor user interface tweaks. I had to fiddle a little more than I wanted to find where I specified the points limit.

A print function. Something that takes your list, makes it more printer friendly, and allows you to print it to use.

These things are mostly minor, and are by no mean complaints, so much as suggested future features.

Things I liked:

The ease of use. The interface was straight forward, copying a unit I had already made was nice. Most of the creation process was very intuitive.

The accuracy. Points and weapon options were correct (barring that I could not take a cyclone ML on my TH/SS termies, but people will debate if you can or not so lets not open that can of worms). I liked that it automatically allows me to pick termies as troop choices if my hq allows it, and same for bikes.

Ease of signup and sign in.

Convenience of it being a web based application. Worry about a downloadable version later, there are tonnes of those.

Over all, good job. I have booked marked this, and will be sharing it with my friends!

Not a bug but your HQ spelling for the dark eldar Haemy Is with a you as opposed to an O. Other than that it all seems to check out on the dark eldar side. Nice job!

Chose as my first army. Haven't looked back since.

Just curious... I use army builder and they have stated that there is a 1 month embargo in place (and I assume it is in place from some silly GW policy but I may very well be wrong) for new codex to go into their product. Not sure if you are aware of this or not so figured I would give you a heads up. http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=7454

That said I am headed over to see what i can find with new daemons on your builder

Just messed around making a Daemons list. I am impressed! I agree with pwntallica about the print ability, it needs one. And needs to print out in a nice crisp easy to read format.

This is pretty nice. I've been hoping for something reasonably mobile-compatible for a while. My one request/reminder not mentioned yet would be for fortifications.

Nice. Add forgeworld units!

Mouse-over text for reminders what a few things are wouldn't hurt either.

While adding all FW units might be a bit time consuming, you could make a "generic placeholder unit" that we could assign a point cost to.

Account is trial - cannot make more than one roster :(

How does one go from being a trial to being a non-trial?

Tried it and it was pretty cool definite bookmark. I agree with pwntallica about the changes to be made later on. But this was definitely an awesome resource.

Dark Angels- 7500 pts
Tau- 5000pts
Chaos Daemons- 3000/2000 pts

About Trial: Unfortunately, in the real world, to continue work on the project will need some monetization So, we plan to introduce premium accounts. Then users are interested in our product could help us. And we, in turn, provide them with some unique features.

Looks great so far.

The only problem is that there are a couple of pricing errors in the Tau battlesuit support systems and the signature systems lists.

Keep up the great work

Hi, i encountered an error in the Chaos Daemons roster. It allows to make 15 model stron Furies units, but in the codex you can take up to 15 aditional models added to the minimum 5, so the maximum size for chaos furies is indeed 20.
