Hello , decided to start a WIP plog for my camo Space Marine Chapter ( Storm Eagles or Storm Wolves depending if you ask me or my son ) as I've got quite a bit going on at the minute.

First up , an eBay pre built Baneblade to be converted into a Fellblade-ish creation utilising Machinator resin parts.

It will be a slow job as I need to finish off a Stormlord and a couple of LandRaiders first , maybe throw in a couple of pics of them as I go !

I got the Baneblade from eBay , its ok but needs some cleaning up and really could do with some disassembly to help with fitting the great resin Machinator parts.
I'm hoping that as the previous owner has primed all the parts black first some brake fluid will not only strip the paint but also help it come apart as paint will be in the joints.

Main drama I'm having at the minute is whilst I was degreasing the resin the resin parts in my sink I manged to loose a couple of small parts down the plug !
No Problem ! Tom McBride of Machinator will replace them with my next order ( hopefully this week ) free of charge !!
People buy your resin from Tom !!!

Hopefully some brake fluid will loosen up some of the Baneblade parts.

Whilst the brake fluid works on the Baneblade , thought I'd do a bit to the StormLord , I stole the armoured fuel cells that were going on the Banblade and fitted them so needed a patch job with the airbrush and now starting the pin washes prior to some final shading and chipping / weathering . I feel ill at the thought of the amount of chips that will go on this !

WHY ARE THERE SO MANY RIVETS ? WHY ?

[Thumb - DSCF0991.JPG]
I REALLY like the look of the Machinator fuel cells.

LOL , its like no one can weld anymore !

When i was 12 I used to like all the skull on skulls with a rivetted skull brooch , I just cut them off now !

Thanks buddy.

I'm sure the arc welders broke and then to repair them was heresy against the Machine God so we're stuck with rivets

The Baneblade was a little stubborn at dis-assembling itself but I managed to do a bit of work on it , namely rear hull plate and the turret ring. The Machinator parts fit as well as you cut the GW donor parts out , and in that respect you need to be quite careful how you cut out , GW hasn't stinted on the thickness of plastic and it takes a bit of a practised hand to do it .
If its your first go be prepared to cut the same line 10 or so times before you get anywhere near thru.

Just randomly doing bits here and there at the minute , magnetised my SturmRaiders for the Machinator Gattling gun , I think it looks pretty sweet , and it gives me 3 weapon options now. I'll finnish the barrels with some burnt weathering and some chipped desert yellow.

Are you mad, they look awesome (and a bit funny, but funny in a good way) like that.

Pretty awesome if you play them as a Punisher variant I think!

Funny in a good way ????? LOL

Yeah I know what you mean but my concern was the painting standard of the tracks not the reversed direction , which in my view makes them look like mini LandRaiders !

Working on chips and weathering the StormLord , decided to try a mix of sponge and brush instead of just brush as its so large and apart from a few obvious blobs that I'll clean up , I reckon its turned out fairly well. Masking up for the recognition marking to break up the large plate a bit.

Mate , sometimes its like being a glacier moving thru glue carrying heavy shopping , innit ?

My trouble is , mainly , that I start far too many things at once to avoid becoming bored , but then it takes forever to get things finished.

If you can wait 20 or so years , I'll spray a few for you !

I have no idea what that is, but holy hell do I want one!!! Any chance you could put up a tutorial somewhere?

Mate , already up , here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/505689.page

Backwards Leman Russ Vindicator doesn't exactly roll off the tongue so me and my son call them SturmRaiders , I just made them up from spares we had , actually fairly simple and straight forward if you are handy with a hobby knife . I would imagine its even easier if you use parts that aren't already painted and glued

Once you've magnetised the barrel pretty much all the Imperial heavy weapons will fit !

This StormLord just won't go away and is taking forever , but its starting to look like it'll get finished off soon , think I went overboard on the amount of chipping on it. It was my first go at sponge chipping rather than just a paintbrush and got a bit carried away !

The white parts will be lens's eventually.

I like how the rear compartment turned out.

Stormlord is now about done , probably find a few bits that need touching up and the rear compartment weapons need magnets and painting , will probably go for heavy bolters in the back.

Today got quite a bit done to my "FellBlade" using Machinator resin parts. I love these conversion kits and how they transform a very GW-esque vehicle into something I actually like the look of !
AND I only stuck myself to the tracks a couple of times .
Glad I bothered to magnetise all the turrets and weapon options , very excited about the range of weapon options now. Magnets are for winners.
[Thumb - DSCF1095.JPG]
I managed to file and carve enough plastic away so that now the hull gun can fire direct fit the gatling gun barrels.

OK so , mostly done , except for some gap filling , cleaning up of glue blobs and any missed mould lines , some turret weapons from ebay that are on there way , a cupola and about a million hours to pin wash all those rivets .
Apart from that , done.

Getting alittle tired of chips and scratches but - must - push - on. Hoping a couple of days and I'll have most of this Landraider done.

Also to have a bit of a break , built a Librarian from a old , stripped body and some spares , the hand pose from the Scout Snipers is a bit "gangsta" but hopefully it will look ok with a bit of OSL or something.

Ok , so after a distinct lack of interest to my "What cam on the assault squad ?" question on my showcase blog decided I'd start with a simple stripe pattern like my vehicles.

Colours used are same as the vehicles , Tamiya desert yellow and Vallejo Panzer Grey but look a very different shade in real life , whether its cos its brush painted instead of air brush or a different mix I dunno.

Anyhow , here's the Assault squad WIP.
