After having read the new HE book, I am in love with the idea of being able to create a themed army around the different choices in the book.

The idea for this one is based off of Phoenix's

Lords - Anointed of Asuryan riding a Flamespyre Phoenix. Star Lance, Golden Crown of Atrazar

Heroes - Caradryan mounted on Ashtari

Core - 1 unit of 30 Seaguard with shields, musician and standard.
1 unit of 25 archers

Special - 1 unit of 30 Phoenix Guard with musician and standard, including banner of the world dragon

Rare - 2 x Flamespyre Phoenix

The army total is 2495

Overall its not really designed to be a competitive list, I think it would be a lot of fun to have that many Phoenix's flying around the field.

I was having a hard time with the core choices and figuring if I should run smaller units of archers or having a larger block. None of the core really fits with the rest of the theme, so it was a matter of filling out the points and trying to see what would be good. One option I thought of was running Cavalry to have a quick army all around. Any thoughts to fit the theme here?

I do like the idea of a unit of 15 silver helms instead of the seaguard. They keep up with the phoenix's nicely (M9 heavy cav is pretty sweet), provide extra attacks to thin out large units, lets the champ take a challenge if they enemy throws out a challenge, the 2+ armor combo's with the frost's -1 to str aura really well, and provides 2-3 ranks to help break steadfast. Plus the biggest reason is then you can be 100% themed, since you won't have to call on Lothern to provide troops to your army

Theme and warhammer do not go well together. As well you will find that you grow every bit of sick when trying to play it. Its like trying to put a square into a circle hole, it just does not work.
