Lords - 570
Shadow king, 250
Archmage, lvl4 metal, book of hoeth, 4+ ward tally, 320

Heroes - 315
Noble, bsb, HA, shield, horse + barding, spear of +3S and no save, lion
cloak, bow, 155
Mage, lvl2 shadow, horse+barding, 160

Core - 607
14 Silver helms, FC, shields, 352
3x5 Reavers, bows 255

Special - 811
Shadow warriors, 18 man, champ, 262
Shadow warriors, 18 man, champ, 262
Shadow warriors, 24 man, champ, reaver bow 371

I want it to be a more fluffy list so I'll be converting the silver helms to look like the raven heralds (guys on horses that helped out in the shadow king book from the Sundering trilogy). The metal wizard is there because I figure high save armies will be this lists worst nightmare, shadow is just cos it sounds fluffy and I want a backup caster. BSB could be swapped out for a guy on foot with the shadow armour and reaver bow but I figured he is more survivable and will be more useful in the SHs.

What do people think?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

The problem with skirmishers is the foot print the unit takes up.
They are too big to slip between or around units.
Shadow king not being able to march and fire is a bit of a slap in the face as well.

I'd thin down the shadow warriors just a little, and pick up a small unit of shadow warrior honor guard (IE rare shooters) to put the king in. I'd cut the shadow warriors to 15 (so 5 wide), and pick up 14 of the girls with bows with champ (5 wide with the king).

I would take high magic all the time. Being able to choose a great magic missile or drain magic is awesome. Destroying magic items can be game winning. Ethereal movement during the magic phase is awesome. Super boosting your own troops is awesome. The only spell in the whole list that's a let down is the healing one; but given that we have to signature spells, I'm not worried about having 1 sinker spell.
Even the tempest works pretty well, it owns enemy gunlines.
