As recommended by Yakface, I am launching this new thread about Raging Heroes' Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter.

May 5 edit:
The TGG Kickstarter has now launched!
And thanks to you all, it's already doing unbelievably well! THANK YOU!!!

Every announced heroine and unit unlocked!
All trikes and all Were-She-Wolves unlocked!
Now going for new, unseen units, heroines and upgrades!

But what is it?
The Toughest Girl of the Galaxy Kickstarter will give you access to three full all-female armies for your SciFi games, with over 150 new sculpts.

Images?
We've already shown 13 images so far. They give a very accurate overview of the three armies we've been working on.
And the amazing feedback we got pushed us to develop a whole bunch of new characters and make things even more kick-ass!
Here are a 6 of them:

Sounds great so far, will we have a preview of the pledges before they go live?

Also have you considered for the Iron empire to produce alternative scenic elements that do not have the sculls and bones?

Speaking of waiting, what were you looking at as the delivery date for the products?

So are people just assuming that the models will look as amazing or more than the concept art? Are people really throwing money at a product that they can't see, a product which has its value entirely based on aesthetics?

Nobody's throwing money at anything yet because the Kickstarter hasn't started yet. At that point, THEN we'll see everything that they have ready to show us beyond the concept art seen so far.

Almost a shame that RH started this thread. I'd imagine that having a dedicated forum member - Wolfstark (and/or BrookM?) to keep the OP updated as the KS goes along would be better, since the RH crew will be busy as the KS starts.

PsychoticStorm wrote:Sounds great so far, will we have a preview of the pledges before they go live?

I'm afraid not, because we will probably be tweaking them until the last minute...

PsychoticStorm wrote:Also have you considered for the Iron empire to produce alternative scenic elements that do not have the sculls and bones?

We considered it when we first saw a comment about it, but the majority overruled it.

Joyboozer wrote:Speaking of waiting, what were you looking at as the delivery date for the products?

We pushed out the final delivery date for the entire project quite a bit to account for unexpected events, but we will be releasing the minis in several waves, so pledgers will be able to get their hands on certain rewards way before that final date.

ph34r wrote:So are people just assuming that the models will look as amazing or more than the concept art?

Perhaps. However, we spend hours, days, sometimes weeks, to get the sculpts to look like the concepts. There will be side-by-side comparisons showing concepts and sculpts in the KS.

I'll look forward to buying the minis if they match up to the beautiful artwork, scale readily against 28mm scifi wargames and are readily available... when they are available.

I've highlighted the really important part of the quote above.

- Will the heads be separate on the Iron Empire miniatures? If so, is there any chance of at least a unit or two getting helmetless heads? I love the Prussian fencer look, but not the headwear.

- Can you tell us what the "sweet spot" pledge is, and what we'd get at that price?

Oh not another kickstarter.

I hate getting great quality, cheap and unique miniatures as presents to myself every month or so. Its terrible and I think it should stop.

You're actually getting minis? So far, except for Sedition Wars box set and the Leviathan from DreamForge, I'm still waiting on all mine.

To answer the question regarding the heralds you asked in the old thread, I got this: "At this point in time, we are forced to keep your name on the list as a potential future Herald. We received many applications, many more than we originally expected, and we have not been able to sign you all up because we want to be able to develop a regular relationship with each Herald and this takes time, which is a resource in short supply right now." So nope, I'm not in and chances are, nevar [sic]. I think it's because I've been a tad too critical as of late with my feedback.

And it's probably for the best that I don't run the a KS thread in the long run, I've probably come across more as a hater than someone who wants to see this succeed, which I really still want to see happen. Oh well, saves me from being bitched at.

Do we know if it will be possible to get the concept arts (see the first post) in poster sizes? They'd look really cool hanging in the hobby room.

Not really.

Raging Heroes have quite a few models, both fantasy and sci-fi, out there. You can even go and order some from most e-Tailers (or directly from Raging Heroes) and have a look at the work they do.

That's a hell of a lot more than can be said for many start-up Kickstarters that have been out there in the pasts year or two.

They've made mention of the sculpting they've been doing in the past three months, they just haven't shown it yet. I assume that they'll finally let us see what they've been up to on Tuesday, just as they are doing for the prices. That still doesn't mean the quality will be up to scratch - these will be their first restic miniatures so they could still have a Finecast debacle on their hands - but I'd have more confidence judging Raging Heroes by their digital sculpts than Mantic by their concept sketches.

Agreed, materials aside, I've got faith in their ability to make the actual minis life up to the designs shown thus far.

You're not alone!

I'd prefer fewer Skulls-n-Bones too - and if it gets too silly, I'll probably be avoiding that 'faction' as well!

Judging from their past products, especially their miniatures here on my desk, I am quite confident about their ability to deliver stunning models close to the concept art. It's just a matter of time and your patience as others have mentioned as well
