Almost good enough to overcome my anti-wood bias. A shame they can't be laser-cut from plasticard sheet instead, or I'd buy them in a flash.

Oh, that would be so much awesome rolled into bacon the world would stop spinning.

I'm actually really starting to wonder about that possibility. We lasercut plastic sheets for work all the time. Seeing some of these awesome creations without the annoying woodgrain on the lasercut edges would be fantastic, and would instantly get me to buy more.

Something I might look into for reference...

The laser cutting machines can and do cut plastic but it would be more expensive for the material

Well, if it's the same for the kit/company, they could be able to offer both variants at different prices? For converting/painting there is a big difference in ease of use between the two. If you want to build something as is, like I would the new droppods, MDF would be fine. But any orc buggies I would want to be able to swap weapons and bits from plastic kits, which would be a lot easier with plastic sheet material.

Actually at a 1/4 inch styrene is just a much pain as the MDF from what I've played around with. A jewelers saw is the only thing that will give cleanish larger cuts on both. Knives and files work for notching both but any major cutting on realy thick styrene is harder because it must be done by hand while a scroll saw will cut MDF without a problem and leave behind an edge just shy of a traditional CNC machine.

The trouble with cutting HIPS (high impact styrene, the stuff they make plastic kits from) is the edges do not cut cleanly, rather all all bendy and melty. No good at all for tiny models.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned I'll be looking into it, as I'm very curious now. We usually cut acrylic sheet at work to make various jigs out of... we've tried various other plastics but the results vary a lot as far as how easily it cuts and how smooth the edges look.

The edges of the acrylic sheets look great, but I'm not sure that it's very suitable for this application.

I have to say you have some great designs which are tempting me considerably, the only thing is I am a plastic fan through and through however those Ork buggies are pushing me to even consider investing in MDF.

This was my first time working with this material, and I have to say Im a fan. There are way less burrs than plastic mold connections and no mold lines. Burs I can deal with, little scraping, little sand paper. Mold lines drive me crazy, as one half of the models always seems to end up considerably higher than the other. So frustrating to deal with.

Granted, Ive only just started assembling the sand huts, but I suspect the buggies (which I will probably start in on tomorrow) will be much the same.

admitedly, the not borderlands buggies are not the easiest to assemble. I'll probably revisit them at a later date.

hah, ah well. good thing I don't have much to do tomorrow then. Any suggestion on what to use to separate the pieces from the MDF board? Boxcutter or something? I don't want to risk ripping the top/bottom of the MDF.

They look really cool. With a little bit of work they could be sentinels or rough riders or IG salamander command vehicles. whatever. Very versatile designs. I look forward to seeing them in the shop.

May want to revisit them sooner, rather than later. Sounds like buggies have gotten a boost in the new Ork Codex coming out this week, so there may be increased demand for them.

Oh man, I feel silly for not realizing this earlier with mine... for some reason I thought they would snap out. Will definitely cut when I get around to building the giant mechanical worm

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

For the new buggies will the moon hubcap have an alternate that is not some sort of imagery denoting faction/tribe/horde/army/etc.? Even the option to have it look like the rear wheels would be fine.

oh. yes, all the wheels come like the rear wheels. the moon hubcaps are separate.

Was just looking at the pdf instructions for the transport, to see how it fits together, and noticed this:

NOTE:
This bit is a bit tricky.
You’ll need to line up all five
of the tabs and slots at
once.

Having pre prepared swear

3 questions:

Will a larger TRV relative ever happen? I liked the tank-y one but haven't seen anything in a while.

What is the wild guess for when the buggies will be released?
Guesstimate on the price of the buggies?

Looks amazing!, Just a few quick questions.

I remember a while back that there might be an option for one with out the interrior at a cheaper price point. Also any plans to do a bunddle version like the 3 pack for your pervious pods?
