That's why I recommended using a 1/144. Back when they first came out, someone posted a pic of one next to an old Endless Waltz 1/144 and they were the same size.

Possible, but I suspect it's going to be a bit more complicated than that. The Gundam appears to have literally come out of nowhere, and it's unclear where Monday came from. On another note, the art style for the mecha reminds me of AGE...

The previous episode seemed to hint at the Gundam and Raraiya possibly coming from the colonies. They haven't come up yet and it wouldn't surprise me if the colonies still maintain a higher tech level than the Earth.

Thanks for the info! Also what is that Zaku-esque looking thing up there? It's dope! The massive chainsaw thing works really well for being a knight too

It's from Assault Suits Leynos, a pair of sidescrolling action games. Only the original came out in the US as Target Earth for the Genesis. The sequel was on the Saturn. Assault Suits Valken/Cybernator on the SNES was somehow related to it as well. Plum made models of both Valken and the Leynos.

1/35 Metal Gear Solid minis:

The set includes three versions of Snake (standing, running, and crouching), Skull Face, Chico, and normal and poncho-wearing Marines. Additional pieces include three AM MRS-4 rifles, two AM Type 69 rifles, Skull Face’s gun, night vision goggles, an iDROID, and a cassette player. The models and accessories can be combined in various ways to reenact scenes from the game; for example, the game’s opening can be created by putting the night vision goggles on the crouching Snake model.

The plastic model set retails for 3,200 yen, plus tax. It will be released in January 2015.

Anyone know the dimension on those 1/144 tanks?

And, how tall the MS-06 Zaku stands?

Thanks!

1/144 scale Gundams and Zakus are stand about 5 to 5.5 inches tall. The tank should be about an inch to 1.5 inch tall and about 3.5 inches long.

This 20 seconds says it all.

Not easily.

There was a B-Club Resin kit, but its long out of production.

Here is another pic of the plastic kit, on what I think is a 10mmx10mm grid?

Buying that box a few times is cheaper than getting the resin garage kits

Who wouldn't want a squadron of Zaku's anyway!?

I may have to pick that up so my other zakuII has a wing man. Good find.

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

I have that set. It isn't that good. That's the standard HGUC Zaku, whose sculpt was based on the original anime design. The model kind of sucks. As far as standard Zaku HG kits go, the F2 from 0083 is a MUCH better kit.

Anyway, I measured one of the tanks. Not counting the guns, the tank's body is about 2.5" long. Does that help?

Also, it doesn't show it, but there's two of those tanks in that set, plus little Zeon "hover bikes" and infantry.

Barzam - I'm confused - should I be buying a different Zaku kit that the one previously linked?

Please also keep in mind that I know almost next to nothing about Gundam.

My Giant Robot knowledge sadly ends a few years before it started!

If you want to get into Gunpla, and join the Mono-Eye Lovers Master race*.. than there are better options for Zaku out there.

If you're just looking to pick up the Type 61 Tank in 1/144, then the kit you linked is the one you want.

This is the kit that Barzam is talking about:
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN962048/Gun

If you want a bigger kit, the 2.0 MG Zaku 2 kit, and its variants are very nice:

Knowing almost nothing about Gundam, I just like the Zaku model and I REALLY like the tanks that are included.

It looks like that particular kit is either out of stock, backordered or on pre-order though?

The price from HLJ seems nice, and I'd be OK with buying a few of those kits to get the model and the tanks in multiples but...

...not sure if it will be coming back in stock anytime soon - or ever?

I'll check those other links too though - thanks!

Bandai produces so many different SKUs that it cycles what kits it produces every few months. So barring something being reaaaaaaaaally old, it will be restocked in a few weeks~months.

For instance, in December they'll be rereleasing Char's variant Zaku 2 MG
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN949834/Gun

and in Jan they'll be rereleasing Shin's variant
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN956655/Gun

there are minor differences between them and the mass production version, mostly with weapons and other bits included. (and also Shin's is a HIgh-MObility version)

Here's a tank kit that was mentioned in a Mantic thread, but would also fit well enough into 40k as anything on a Chimera hull.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131345441109?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2661&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Looks like it scales well enough with 40k tanks, has many, many weapon options, and though it may be a little simplistic, a good lick of paint would get it battle ready. I have one on order because, at £5 including shipping, if it turns out to be as good as it seems, there is a metric ton of potential for cheap IG tanks.

Those tanks aren't bad. They certainly do have some potential. It'd be nice to give Space Marines proper tanks.

Wing and Seed are good starting places, they're both stand alone series.

0079 shows its age, but is still a good series, and is really where you want to start with the Universal Century continuity. Followed by Zeta Gundam.. you can pretty much skip ZZ Gundam, and then watch Char's Counter attack. That wraps up the Char vs Ammuro storyline.

Alternately, Gundam: The Origin starts up next year, which is a retelling of the original series.. and should be good if it follows the books.

Other good watches are the 08th MS Team, 0080 and 0083 OVA series and the F91 Movie. These are all UC timeline, but are self contained. F91 is fantastic.

Other good stuff:
Turn-A Gundam, if you enjoy victorian era stories with giant robots.
G-Gundam, if you want HOT BLOOD, COURAGE, AND GUTS with your giant robots.

Gundam Build Fighters, set in 'za real worldo' is about kids building gundam model kits and using them to play a kind of tabletop game. It features a lot of little references to almost all of the previous Gundam series, but you can enjoy it without having to know them all. Its second season just started running.
