I am posting this here because no one else has and it just really seems like news.

Highly detailed Textured base stamps for 25mm round miniature wargaming bases

Our Texture stamps are designed to allow anyone to easily create low cost great looking bases for their wargaming figures that look professionally sculpted. The texture stamps have patterns like urban ruins, bones, rocks and battlefield debris. To use the stamps all you need is to put a little sculpting putty on your base and press the stamp down for the pattern you want, then allow the putty to dry. Cutting the putty away and multiple stampings can be used to create custom bases that give the sculptor endless possibilities of bases for a fraction of the cost of resin bases.

What are they made from?

The stamps are made from resin that gives highly detailed results when stamping. They are colour coded and numbered for ease of use.

What you will need to make great bases in three easy steps.

Modelling Putty, Texture Stamp, 25mm Round Base.

Step 1,Roll the putty into a ball and place in the centre of the base.

Step 2, Stamp down the putty and leave to dry.

Step 3, Paint and mount your figure on the base.

I saw this while I was looking at stuff on kickstarter, my problem with it is I like my bases to all be different, I suppose you could add some stuff but it seems pretty meh to me.

Looks interesting, although i think the creator chose a fairly bad time to launch. Happy Seppuku recently ran a KS campaign for a similar product that ended only 2 weeks before this one began, so i'm assuming that the target market has already been heavily tapped at this point.

I really wish that the stamps were dual sided, but i'm guessing that it wasn't practical to create them that way. The $18 price tag for only 4 different bases is ultimately a big deal breaker to me, for roughly the same price i could purchase 20 different resin bases from a few different eBay stores.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Certainly interesting, though most of the designs seem to be pretty similar to one another.

It's a pretty cool idea, nonetheless.

It sounds like one of those as-seen-on-TV devices that works great in theory but just wouldn't work in practice.

I like the idea but why does this require a Kickstarter?

If you don't have the confidence to back such a seemingly idea then this isn't something I will want to back.

Yeah, that was my thought exactly...

That also looks like a heck of a lot of greenstuff per base, I usually use other leftovers / scraps for bases like that.

I'm still suprised no one has just released molds like Hirst Arts makes to just cast up your own bases.

That these are in resin worries me. I'm thinking breakage could be a problem. I mean, resin isn't the most forgiving material in the world.
What if you make up a batch of gs that's big enough for ALL your bases? If you are a slow worker, whn you get near the end of your batch, it's going to have started hardening already. How much of that could a resin stamp put up with?

@bbb - Because the real money is in the bases THEMSELVES.

Is there really no such product? That is indeed pretty surprising...

Yeah....a better product would be something like Hirst molds - rubber mold to make many bases at once (and a large variety of bases in that mold).

Still...interesting product in the KS. Not my cup of tea, but interesting nonetheless.
