I am unsure of how the Enclave supplement works as an ally. Are you still required to take the 3-man Crisis Unit? I have seen others ally an extra Riptide but just take Kroot rather than the Suits.

Also, can O'Vesa upgrade one of his Missile Drones to a Warscaper?

you MUST take a 3 man crisis unit as one of your 2 required troops as an ally.

You cannot upgrade O'vesa as he is a special character and his wargear is set.

Can you take O'vesa as an allied detachment?

Yes as the Eight don't take up HQ slots.

But only if I take Farsight as an ally, so for example you cannot have a Farsight/Shadowsun bomb supported by Ovesa?

I think you may be able to do that if they're in different detachments. It depends on what constitutes an "army."

No.

To make the Farsight/Shadowbom, you have to use Farsight out of the Tau Codex to get the Crisis Bodyguard unit. If you do this, you do not unlock O'vesa, as the Eight replace the Crisis bodyguard unit from the Tau Codex.

The only way to attempt what you are asking is to take a Shadowsun, a Tau Codex Commander with the Crisis Bodyguard unit, and then Farsight Enclave allies with Farsight and O'vesa.
