This only pertains to the Warhammer 40,000 tournament that was at Comikaze, the overall event is still going on.

Well, not enough people bought tickets and that's that. The administrative staff decided they would rather use the square footage for a more profitable venture.

To everyone planning on going, I am sorry for the disappointment but I did everything I could to get the word out and get more time.

To those who bought tickets to try and keep it alive, thank you.

To those who procrastinated, kick yourself in the butt!

If anyone has any issues with getting their money back (I don't anticipate this will happen, though), I will try to assist where I can and will be happy to help but please bear in mind I have no control over the money.

They said they'd be open to trying again next year, but we will see.

It’s go time, folks!

Purchase tickets here: https://secure.interactiveticketing.com/a/6663ac

Grab those tickets, this is going to be a great event and a great 40K tournament. Comikaze is a huge pop culture event, with tens of thousands of attendees all coming to meet celebrities, Cos Play, game, and have a fun weekend of geeking out.
This will be the 3rd year for Comikaze and we are really looking forward to it as in years past, this has been a really fun event. Imagine yourself playing games in a cordoned off section of a huge con with beautiful Cos Players all over the place, celebrity nerds and tons of happy geeks all around! It is a blast.

Remember, the event ticket includes your admission to the Con AND the tournament. You get a lot for that.
Here are some pics from previous years!

Haha, we just really love what we do and like playing 40K, like running events, like Cons. We figure the harder we work at bringing fun events for people to go to, the more the community grows, the more fun everyone has the better it is for our business. Win/win!

If I had any extra Ork models around Mike I would drive them over myself! Sucks big time.

I doubt I can swing this Reece I teach a High School Entrance Exam class on Sundays during Sept-Nov and I am pretty sure one of my classes is on the 3rd. I am still all in for the Vegas Con though! Pun 50% intended.

@Mike

Ah, that is horrible! Such a beautiful army, too. If I see it on eBay or around, I will let you know, and then promptly donkey punch the offending party.

@Overwatch

Ah, bummer. Would have loved to see that FMC list again! But no worries, we can't make them all.

@Blackmoor

2 hours and 15 minutes with 15 minute breaks. Fits 1750 just right.

She Who Must Be Obeyed has told me I must attend.
Looks like perfect attendance award for me.

I'll probably bring my Samurai IG since I don't think the Marines will be anywhere near completion in 2 months.

EDIT: Mike...when how where was da Boyz stolen? That sucks bad man. Hope to see you their.

How many total players can fit into this event?

Are you starting the circuit with this event?

Is there a swag bag with a robe?

Why do you have red hair and why are you wearing leather in that bottom pic?

We can fit as many as 64 players

The circuit starts at the LVO

Swag bag probably robe optional

That was my pre-op pic, I think I look way better now!

Considering we've been running it for all of 6th and it's been working fine, I don't see why that would change. The BAO was the only time we did have an issue and that was due to logistical issues with overcrowding, not due to the format.

I will tell you what changed...the new codexes.

Demons (which you had some at Anime Expo), Tau, and Eldar take a long time to play.

The Nova Open had 2.5 hour rounds at 1850 points and had trouble with games finishing. You are only 100 points less with 15 minutes less so you are in that ballpark.

You have a couple of things going for you:
#1. Your format is simple and the same in every game which will cut down on prep time.
#2. You are not as competitive. What I mean by that is that you will draw a lot of the locals who will be playing the armies that they have and you will not have the field made up of 80% Demons, Tau and Eldar (who take longer to play as stated above).

So we will see if time is going to be an issue at Duel Con.

I think we'll be fine, but time will tell.

Also, Warmachine and Hordes will be at Comikaze, too! Space is limited so grab those tickets!

Hey everyone, there was some difficulty finding the 40K tickets on the site but here they are: https://secure.interactiveticketing.com/a/6663ac

Buy your tickets this week, please! We need to hit some sales goals or the admin at Comikaze may cancel the event, so if you are planning on going, buy your tickets this week it is very important that you do so! Stop being gamers and procrastinating =P

Yes I mean this week. There was a mix up with the web page and people couldn't find where to buy the tickets. So, the Comikaze administration thought tickets were moving too slowly. I explained the situation, the site is fixed now, but they want to see significant tickets sell this week.

So, in order to avoid further confusion, anyone who is able please be sure to buy your ticket this week. It would be a serious benefit for everyone planning on attending.

Im going to assume they are lost in the warp, fighting the good fight on some demonic planet..... Yeah. I had enough figures left over to build a Nob biker with Thunderwolf Cav and drop pods. My replacement army has been order but wont be ready to fight for a few months. And painting will take just as long. But they will be back!

They better not cancel; I have plane tickets. I would give them some serious grief over that.

BUY YOUR TICKETS TODAY OR NEVER AGAIN!

After a lovely 12 hour drive home through the night from Duel Con, I wake up to a message from the Vice President of Comikaze that they are not satisfied with registration numbers and will be cancelling the event Wednesday if we don't see a spike in ticket sales TODAY.

So, this is the last chance to buy your tickets. Do it today or Comikaze is gone for good.

Tanks for the show of support, HappyGrunt.

Well, it's a business. They've been really upfront with us and their event is ultra expensive and every square foot of real estate is worth a lot of money. If they think they are going to lose money on the event which they can then offer up to another event which will turn a profit, you really can't blame them. I mean, if the shoe was on the other foot and we were running an event and a part of it was going to lose us potentially thousands of dollars, I don't think anyone would blame us for cancelling.

It sucks, no doubt as we really like Comikaze, but we aren't mad at them either. We are still doing our utmost to get the word out and if folks simply don't buy tickets and it does get cancelled, perhaps it just wasn't meant to be.

However, for now we fight to the end! Haha, I will keep pushing until the last minute to see if we can pull it off here and make it happen.

@Janthkin

Are the tickets not refundable? If so, that stinks and you should definitely reach out to them or the airline to see if an exception can be made in the event the tournament is cancelled.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@Loch

If the event falls through, you will get a full refund. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
