Long time dakka-nite, I finally finished my novel and it's up on Amazon. I'm very happy with it. I can't promise you'll like it, but I can almost guarantee it will come across as professional quality. It was put together partially through a successful Kickstarter campaign.

My website has an animation movie that gives info on it.
http://www.belvaille.com/movie.html

There is a paperback and digital version of the book. I personally like the paperback, but that's me. And it's not me trying to sell or anything, I basically get the same (lousy) commission on either.

One reason I post here so damn much is because I'm a long-winded writer, but I also would flip over to this site as a break from actually writing/editing/formatting my novel. So thanks, community. Hopefully I can get some ads up on the site and maybe a discount code, though I'm a little burnt-out now and the only discount I saw I could create was on an overpriced version.

I'll put it on my wishlist and pick it up the next time I put through an amazon order. It sounds fun.

The cover art is amazing, I might buy it for that alone.

Thanks. Yeah, I love the cover. I spent more money on that cover than I'll likely ever make in a bazillion million years. The artist has done covers for Heavy Metal magazine which is how I first found him. I've got a huge poster of it on my wall.

Hope you guys like the book. OH, and if you get a chance, please put up a review on Amazon if you can. Thanks again.

I just picked this up. The first couple chapters of the preview were entertaining, and I was meaning to pick up something light and/or hard boiled this weekend. Good luck with your sales figures!

yeah,
I picked up a copy after I read the first few preview pages and liked it.
I look forward to giving it a go.

Hey, thanks guys. It's definitely not meant to be War and Peace. I mean the guy has a pink bathrobe on the cover and the subtitle is Screw the Galaxy. I think the tone is pretty clear.

As I begged earlier, if you DO end up liking it, I'd really appreciate a positive review on Amazon/Goodreads/whatever.

I know this is a self-bump but:

My novel Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy is now #1 in Amazon's ebooks for kid's science fiction and it cracked 100 for aye-dults. It's actually pretty exciting for me.

The book just had its best weekend yet. It's rated 4.7 stars on Amazon (from people I don't know, I might add).

If anyone is interested, you can get t-shirts and mugs and whatnot with logos on it, including the cover.
T-Shirt creator is up. Go to:
http://www.spreadshirt.com/design-your-own-t-shirt-C59

Click on Choose Design at the top.

Type in Hard Luck Hank in the search bar and click search. You can select your size and the color you want. You can add the images to nearly all their product line, from bags to coffee mugs to iPhone cases. I've only bought some t-shirts for myself and I wear them a lot. They're good conversations starters.

Slight necro but the ebook is on sale for another 19 hours. UK and US.

Also, I have a PRELIMINARY image for the cover for my next novel, which I'm editing now. I thought you guys might get a kick out of it.

New book is up and live. And the ebook for the previous book is on sale for .99 cents cheap. It was actually the #6 ranked sci-fi book on Amazon...for a day.

Will there be a paper version of the second book? I love the title.

Yeah, they're reviewing it. It's a real pain to put all that stuff together and the ebook format shares very little with what is required to put together a print book. That said, the print book will cost about twice as much (and I make about 1/2 the royalties, which is all suck).

I'm sorry to hear about the royalty situation. Still, I'm far more likely to buy a $12 book-book rather than a $0.99 e-book. I have a lot of ebooks already and I just can't force myself to read them.

Just started Screw the Galaxy (been reading A Song of Ice and Fire so... yeah... took me a while to get at it), and it's hilarious. Love it. Definitely will pick up Basketful of Crap, although I too would prefer a physical copy. If you get more of a royalty off of the ebook though I might just buy that anyway to support you more.

Anyway, the turnaround time on the sequel was quick - I suppose you wrote it before the original went to print?

Just bought the Kindle edition of the first book - how could I say no to a thug in a pink bathrobe?

Heck, now I want to do a pink bathrobe mod for Fallout 3....

I congratulate you on your novels sir, however, they are nothing to do with wargaming therefore we cannot allow the thread anywhere but in OT, I hope you understand.

I'll move it over, good luck with it!

Nah, my heart says yes, but my brain says 'I'd better agree with him - he's a thug. He might hurt me.'

Finished reading it - not at all bad!

I like that Hank is not stupid - he just tends to... not think things through completely, and then has to deal with the consequences.

I look forward to reading the sequel!
